How about you guys stop worrying about other people’s curl poundages and goddamn 1RM curls (what the hell are those going to help anyone with?) and instead use the freed time to eat more and work your way up to the 80-100 lb DB’s for 6-8 reps on alternating DB curls and/or 165+ for 8 on bar curls (both with acceptable form, which has nothing to do with textbook form)…

the irony…[/quote]
Are you serious?
One rep max curls are pointless in terms of development. That doesn’t mean disregard the weight used completely and the person who can curl 80-100lbs dumbbells FOR REPS will likely also have very developed biceps.
That would only be “ironic” to someone who didn’t understand this.
Nobody has posted a 1RM apart from Live who was bullshitting anyway. I doubt anyone, or at least very few people are actually stupid enough to do 1RM curls for development but then again people never fail to suprise me.
I walked into my gym a few weeks ago and found this on the bar…I think they were 35s, I can’t recall as I’ve come in other morinings and found three 25s on each side also.
This is Taiwan…I’ve only seen one or two guys even squat over 315…so I don’t believe any real lifting could’ve ever taken place with this bar.
I can’t count the number of idiots in my gym who load up the preacher bench with a few 25’s on each side, position their humongous 15" arms in place, and proceed to move the bar back and forth a total distance of 2 inches, all the while with their buddies “spotting” them. And some people wonder why they haven’t grown in years -lol.
This is a thread dedicated to real numbers. why would you complain if someone shot a comeback at you? If you don’t wanna get attacked, why would you lie about your numbers to begin with? ill give you a 1RM of 110 tops. and thats with an EZ curl bar.

Yea, but a guy who can curl 280 once will very likely have developed biceps.

i used to do rack pulls on the e-z curl. so im sure people had their share of thought when they saw 405 on the preacher curl, maybe since people are small in taiwan they are using it for shrugs or something.

Get off your horse…
Just because someone is curious what others curl and want the enjoyment of engaging in a discussion, doesn’t mean they skip workouts and meals.
What’s wrong with just being curious? That’s what these forums are for. Like when smart asses come back with “google it you moron!”. Like asking a question on a FORUM is redundant. I thought we were here for each other.

Clever, I give you that. Seeing as how I’m usually the guy defending curls in every anti-curl discussion in the bb forum.
How about you guys post up something more useful along with your current numbers though: How your curl progress has been the last 10 workouts? What you curled at the beginning of the year and what you’re curling now?
That way we can at least see if anyone is stuck or only improving only at snail’s pace… And some people who are curling a little more than others might be able to give you a few pointers.
(ok, so this should really have been my first post in this thread)
