How Many Eggs?

nahhh i realize I can eat chicken and other protein in the morning but I love eggs.

EMANCIPATION!!!

nahhh im just goign to keep looking for an article

Hey Morris,

I say you get your ass back to EL so you can eat with AC and the boys. 16 egg omelettes is where it’s at!

AC

When I was in high school and was a chemistry geek, we were using egg whites as protein for chemical reactions, as it’s almost pure, nothing else but protein (almost).

It can’t raise your cholesterol if there’s no cholesterol in the egg white to begin with.

I used to eat 14 scrambled eggs a day at work, 7 earely in the morning and 7 at 10am. 2 yokes per sitting.

Almost never failed - some stupid, fat ass, out of shape, doofus says: “wow, your cholesterol must be really high.” I mean, what do you say to people who’s brains are stuck in 1980? Or worse!

Now as far as being 20 and still at home - most people are at that age! Either that or they’re at college - and those kids are STILL at home - I don’t care where they THINK they’re living, it’s (usually) paid for by mommy and daddy and if it’s paid for by them, it’s theirs, and you’re still home.

Just saying - most people at 20 are still home. Don’t sweat it.

You don’t have to consume cholesterol to have your serrum cholesterol rise. Just saying.
CrewPierce wrote:
Hey question for you guys that eat the eggs raw. Do you just crack them into a glass and chug ala rockey style or do you throw them into a shake?
Put them into protein shakes, the Rocky thing has an awful texture.

No need to puke just to feel like a hardass.

I mix mine into various shakes throughout the day.

Most into my pre-bed shake.

I only use Omega-3 eggs and have never had a problem eating 12 a day.

Only problem comes when I use regular eggs.

Stick to Omega-3

Interestingly enough this is my protocol as well. I love the omegas or ones from the farmers market where they have the flax fed hens blah blah.

I go through only about 4 per day and it’s great. You should have a library subscription at your uni website. Go to the research database and look in one of the nutrition subscriptions for eggs and chol.

You should find tons. And you should also do one for fish oil. Fish oil has almost no negative studies when it comes to HELPING almost any common ailment know to man. unless you are hemophiliac then get more fish oil. You should look that up too and get your rents on the fish oil.

Tell your mom that every modern nutritionist worth his/her anus will agree that there are few more perfect sources of protein than eggs. They keep strong blood lipid ratios and are great as far as bioavailablity.

Everytime she says that eggs are giving you a small wee wee just tell her that “science” says that that is incorrect (dont say wrong). Pretend to be quite knowledgeable about this horse shit at all times and she will eventually start to believe you if you just rock out some science jargon crap every time she makes a comment.

Most people will begin to think that you are knowledgeable (even if you aren’t, although you should endevour to be so given the resources at your hands). Also be sure to tell her that you elarned all this in school, which she pays precious cash for.

People respect post secondary as a information authority no matter if the shit that comes out of there is true (read: up to date) or not. So if you say its the latest cutting edge nutrition from school to eat the eggs and pee your pants then she might start buying it.

Also you can cite that a majority (over 65%) of centurions (people who live more than 100 years) have eggs (whole w/ yolks) as their primary protein source followed by fish and then mutton. I will try to get the article on that for you if i get time.

Half of the argument is over with, but now they’re to the point of “To much of any good thing is a bad thing”

they dont’ have be convinced… but… just in case… 9 egg whites a day 7 days a week… (with a bowl of oatmeal, fruit, and glass of milk) everymorning bad?

The only reason I say this is because I do remember ProfX saying to much of anything can turn out to be bad for you, I’m not just citing him soley (and if he didnt’ say it my bad i thought i read it in one of the posts somewhere) but I hear too much of anything is bad thing all the time…

I’m nto having doubts… I’m just considering the other side

I’ve been eating this way for a while and it hasn’t done anythign yet so

Well, you could play hardball, and point out all the processed, unnatural shit she eats on a daily basis, while you are eating something 100% natural (of course, that can be argued if you are getting shit eggs from some factory farm - if there is a farmers market around, you should try to get the fresh ones).

Anyway, here are some links with info:

Funny enough, I think the nutritional information in the articles is sketchy at best (especially concerning the dangers of saturated fat and cholesterol), but they should at least give you some ammo in your struggle against mommy dearest.

good luck.

depends, if it is all whites, like a cup or too, I just throw them in with some calorie countdown and shake, but if yokes are involved, I mix it in a blender.

What you have to do is expose her own flaws and say “You aren’t doing what is best for you…so who are you to judge what you percieve to be a dietary indiscretion on my part?” Carefully monitor what she buys and eats, then make a case of it. Easy targets are soy, refined carbohydrates and alcohol. If you want to get creative, you could take something wholesome that she eats, find out what little dangers exist in that food (i.e pesticides in broccoli, mercury in fish,) then lie and say that it’s AIDS.

Once you have the woman doubting her own judgment, she’ll likely lose the confidence she once had to keep your tummy under her thumb. If that fails and she still says no, then get a job and pay for your own food (or at least your own eggs. If you get a job at a supermarket, you can buy your own eggs at a 50% employee discount! Cool beans!

I got her today she came home and cracked open a beer and I let the info spew…

“Mom do you know that too much beer is bad for you right? and the toast or bagels you eat in the morning those are pretty bad for you too… and cereal at night… yea its bad… your bad habbits have me worried, after all to much of anything can be a bad thing”

I then posted the link taht someone gave me about eggs on www.whfoods.com and read them aloud to myself as if i was trying to figure out what it all meant… she then came over and slammed the top of the computer down and said she got the point. It wasn’t my computer so I"m not upset but the 1st battle has been won

great ideas guys any more?

Mr CJ hilarious pure greatness.

Make a deal with her. Tell her that if you substitute the eggs/whey/bcaa/whatever-other-crap with good ole chicken and steak, then would she pay for it.

If she agrees, then you get better food for free.

In any event, I’ve been where you are, and moving out was the only solution. If your mom is less crazy, then bless her soul.

Thats why I can’t personally attack (and because shes my mom and all)

She’ll come home with steaks all the time for me liek 10 at a time… when they are gone within a very short amount of time she asks wtf? she isn’t used to me eating alot to try to get bigger when she hears diet she thinks of 1000 calories and low carb… when i hear diet I hear a certain way of eating to get your goals whether that may be eating alot or a little but also the nutrional benefits of the foods you take in…

shes still cool

for now

I’m close to your age; our parents are from the generation hypnotized by too many Oprah specials and Woman’s Day articles. It is ingrained in their brains that anything with fat will make you fat and one should only eat things that are “low in calories”

Staple foods at our house are sugary cereal, Quaker Rice Cakes, pasta, egg substitute, pop tarts, and skim milk. A handful of almonds at night is going to make me obese and 2% milk will kill me, but big bowel of frosted flakes is fine.

The one time I almost lost it is when I looked into the fridge and my natty peanut butter was replaced with “low fat” peanut butter. I was like wtf? Peanut butter is nothing BUT fat. “But it’s lower in calories” Yes, corn syrup makes much better peanut butter then, uhh… peanuts?

Damn I can’t wait to be financially independent

(And yes, cue the posts describing how some of you back in the day had to walk 20 miles to the butcher shop without no shoes to spend your shiny quarters on a piece of bacon that you earned by scraping the lead paint off your neighborhood fences and that I should stop bitching and be happy that I get my gruel paid for…)

if yoy want to live your own life move out.

Getting bitched at about eggs is a pretty fair trade for free food and rent…

I’ve been eating 12-15 whole eggs a day for going on a year and my cholesterol is a bit low if you believe that has anything to do with health in otherwise healthy people.

I have nothing to add except that I eat 90 eggs per week.

I think its pretty weak how “an egg” actually means an egg white, to most people even in this thread. Like “I was 8 eggs…and 2 yolks”. Instead of “I eat 2 eggs and 6 whites”

eat whole eggs, or send your yolks to me. I’d rather throw the whites away than the yolks, what a waste!

It’s an old wives tale that you cannot eat whole eggs. Eggs are the best source of protein because they have a complete amino acid reading. They are high in HDL (High Density Lipoprotein), which is the good cholesterol. To quote Poliquin, “Egg whites are for geeks!”
