I was on gel for about 4 months or so, then I stopped for 2 months, and went back on it for 1 month before stopping again, and it has been 1 month since I stopped. SO it was 4 months on, 2 off 1 on, 1 off. When on gel, my testicles were noticeably smaller and less full on gel but not much so. I stopped taking gel because I want to freeze my sperm. What I am wondering is if 1 month is long enough for fertility to recover? My testicles have been fully returned to normal (pre-TRT) for 2 weeks at least at this point. Is it safe to say that my fertility is returned to pre-TRT levels? Or can that lag behind testicles and/or LH/FSH levels? I also want to note that my LH was 1.5 IU/L (range 1.24–7.8 IU/L) 3 months into gel (a month before I stopped).
If you started Trt, YOU SHOULD NOT STOP. You are only going to make your life hell.
Your doctor should of given you HCG to become fertile. It makes no sense to give a man TRT for low t symptoms, then take him off without taking into consideration HCG.
HCG works for just about every single man on TRT that ive spoken to about fertility. They all got their wives pregnant, and some had gotten their wives pregnant more than once on HCG.
HCG works. The only time it doesnt work well is if you had feritlity issues before TRT.
Without trt nobody will have the drive to get their wife in bed and pursue a child. I know i didnt have libido until i started trt. its a lose lose situation getting of trt.
Also, gel is the worst product for TRT. You want HRT cream from medquest in utah or get injections. Injections are 50 to 100$ fo ra months supply.
Your doctor isnt a TRT expert, only half assed urologists and endo’s give their patients gel, because the pharmaceutical reps sold them on it. THey get perks for giving out these scripts. I would switch doctors and find a real expert fast.
How was it before you started the gel? That stuff is out of your system pretty quick and your HPTa starts working right away
I would tell anyone the longer a person is on TRT, the longer it can take to recover fertility. I would be surprised if you didn’t regain fertility within a couple of months considering you were only on for four months.
As for being fertile after a month of stopping TRT, probably not. You could have just added HCG and FSH to your TRT protocol to regain fertility.
My guess would be yes, given the length of time you were on TRT and the fact that your testicles have already increased in size.
Another way of looking at this is, “is it safe to say I’m not going to get this (one night stand) girl pregnant?” If you did not want your partner pregnant, should you go without birth control? No.
