I’ve read a bunch of old posts about regaining fertility while on trt and after trt. I’ve been on trt for almost 2 years. 100mg test weekly and 25mg clomid eod or when I remember. I did one “blast of 300mgs for 6 weeks last year and besides that there’s no anabolic history other than the 100mg a week. Im debating if I should stop trt and run a restart protocol of hcg (fertility doctor ordered 2000iu hcg and 50mg clomid eod) or just add in hcg and hope it’s enough to give my wife 1 more kid. we have 2 already so it’s not the end of the world I just don’t wanna mess around with hcg for long as I feel perfect on trt. Is coming off trt and running a fertility protocol really that bad? I started 250iu hcg eod 4 weeks ago and just failed one of those at home sperm checkers…
If you have been on for awhile, and don’t currently produce sperm, then patience is needed. It might take 6 months or more to have good sperm numbers.
This article lays out success rates of different protocols. I don’t believe you will need to come off TRT if you are patient, but a small number of guys do need to.
I’ve been running HCG and clomid for 4 months along side my trt. I got sick with covid and skipped a does of test which happened to be 2 weeks before my labs / sperm analysis so I just ran with it and stayed off test. My sperm went from 0s to low 2 million total and my LH and FSH went from 0 to 1.5 and 2.8 and total T is 890. My question is if I start up test (while staying on the hcg) will it crash my sperm and LH / FSH? If we don’t get pregnant this month then my wife doesn’t want to get pregnant till January. I feel like shit even tho my test levels are good so I’m looking for someone to justify me getting back on trt and see how my sperm and LH/FSH hold up while on test.
What does your doc say about all this?
I have two kids from talking 1000 IU HCG thrice per week with TRT (100 mg per week).
My uro thinks it’s impossible to have any swimmers on trt even after I emailed him the hcg study.

I’m hoping the wife gets pregnant this month and it’s a none issue but I don’t have the hugest hopes due to the sperm test results. I was thinking the clomid has to be working since my LH and FSH we’re back in range. I’ve taken clomid the entire time I’ve been on trt and my levels were always 0s
I’m with @BrickHead . It’s certainly possible. Some do do without any hcg out clomid. I think most men can do it on TRT with hcg
