How Has Covid Affected You?

FWIW, idk how you think I was the one to make it political. I was responding to someone’s post about it being political haha.

You’re right, I was wrong. Fauci did clarify his statement that essentially the jury was still out on the safety and effectiveness of HCQ for this application, but it was showing promise.

Also, I’m in favor of greater use of experimental drugs (or uses) in general… As long as the patient is aware of the risks and also all other approved options. I prefer concierge healthcare, personally.

Lastly, pretty shitty to encourage someone sick with a serious illness to not take a medicine you believe will help them. It’s okay to disagree and be civil.

Thanks guys. He’s fine. Sick, but fine. I just didn’t expect the first person I know to get the virus to be my brother.

Mom’s a wreck over it, but she’ll be fine too.

France has approved its use and people are still dying.

Roger Gracie had it. He said it was pretty bad.

This is where the money from all those Nigerian Princes is winding up.

One good thing about the coronavirus is, with the social distancing I haven’t had a cold in months. It would be awesome if an unexpected side effect was the eradication of the common cold.

Mrs. Jewbacca says that is probably to be expected.

HCQ seems to do a couple of things – while it does (through unknown means) help the body fight the virus itself with zinc, it appears to mainly it mitigates the harm it causes to the hemoglobin and decreases the inflammation from the released iron.

In short, it buys a person time to fight the virus, just like a respirator does. Sometimes the time is too short for either or both.

That is why a lot of countries are switching to earlier intervention with HCQ.

Would you mind providing a first name? My family would like to say the Mi Sheberach.

We have treatments for a lot of diseases that people still die from, doesn’t mean that the treatments don’t work.
Of course, caution is still warranted since it’s efficacy hasn’t been proven

My point is that it isn’t, regardless of how effective it is, some “Lazarus” drug as some claim.

100%agree

I’ve inadvertently taken up intermittent fasting during this. My days consist of waking around 5:45-6, calling into work to see if I’m needed that day, almost always am not, and then I go back to sleep until like 10-11. I haven’t slept this much since I was a teenager.

Lol

If they really wanted their students to feel good about themselves they’d award them all with bachelor’s degrees.

That’s basically just a GED now anyway.

They’re kinda right in an abstract way.

The smart kids are going to be smart whether school is in session or not, and a formal education isn’t going to help the dumb ones very much anyways.

So warm fuzzies all around and let’s call it a success!
