Lol , pls
So, basically I fell from the stairs, and just so I don’t injure my head, which could kill me, I turned in a position where all my bodyweight pressure was put on my right arm. I fell so bad that the people from the 1st floor could hear it. The bone in my right arm got shifted such that, it’s shape changed. That was when I couldn’t move my arm, I still can move my arm fully towards my shoulders comfortably but it’s much better than what is used to be. I can’t operate it now because I’m still growing. But I don’t think it should be a reason to not lift weights. If can do 20 push-ups and 10 weighted push ups, I’m normal. It’s just that I’m weak when it comes to bench press and squat. So I don’t want to stop, make an excuse , sit at home and pray for my hand to get healed. Lifting anyways is improving the shape so I think exercise is the only way!
Btw, if you were here, buying a whey protein would also be pretty expensive for you. We literally way 2x you pay for your whey protein.
I can bench more than the bar, but I certainly can’t bench a lot…thanks for your workout routine. I’m looking for gyms today, will get a membership today itself and start off with the routine tomorrow onwards
Is this what your doctor said? You should probably check with your doctor about this if the shape changed. At this point, direct arm work sounds like much less of a priority.
Powdered milk is a much more economical option than whey protein, and works much better for people who need carbs and fats along with protein.
I saw a doc, lifting is absolutely fine for me is what he said
Guys I saw a gym and this was my experience :-
The owner himself is a lacto vegetarian and said that they will come up with a diet and personalised training for me. They’ve alloted me in a time slot where the gym is almost empty
The gym has all equipments, including micro wieghts.
Now, in this gym they said that we’ve analysed your body, we’ve seen you and we will do what’s best for you. They also said SL 5X5 is not a bad program at all, but you aren’t ready for it yet. We will switch to programs as such but I’d recommend you to do as we guide rest is up to you. They’ll also council me, and appoint me a dietitian.
Should I listen to them? Or should I continue with your program disregarding what they say
I promise I didn’t search anything about workouts on the net but that’s what they said.
The other gym I checked was absolutely against the program and was forcing me to follow their programs. The gym is 3x cheaper than the gym where they council me and stuff… And yeah the expensive gym isnt filled with bro science…
Guys I’m gonna spend a hell lot of a money for it… Should I go for it…listen to them or should I do my own thing? Because either way I’ll have to pay the same amount.
A gym is not going to decide what program you can do. Your program is up to you. This entire thread has been telling you what to do. Either do whatever you want or listen to the people who have attempted to help you multiple times here. One or the other. There is no point in asking the same questions over and over. These guys know what they’re talking about & have the physique/stats to prove it.
What? What kind of gym enforces routines on their members? I would not join this gym.
SL 5x5 isn’t for everybody and they could be right. But if you’re comfortable with barbell movements, I don’t see any reason why 5x5 wouldn’t be for you.
I think both gyms are focused on selling their own training, which is understandable, but the way they’re going around it is suspicious. Why is the one gym telling you that you aren’t ready for it, and why is the other gym absolutely against it?
No actually why are you asking your gym about programs?
The gym gave me a form where I had to right my age and any health issues or injuries. Then they calculated my body fat percentage and height. Then I talked to the gym owner. We had a 1 hour conversation. There he said that they’ll keep on switching workout routines to shock the body andt they’ll start with something else. They said the program is fine and we will certainly do it but we won’t start with it. There they also assured all over fitness. We’ll do strength training, endurance training and functional training. Bodyweight, weight lifting, general health tips, and kick boxing etc. They said you’re free to do anything you want, the cost is remaining same irrespective of you using our guidance and support or not.
I didn’t ask them. They said its their policy to guide every single client personally by giving full attention to him/her. There will literally be no one when I’ll be in the gym and they said its not just about lifitng weights but they’ll teach me kick boxing and other stuff also… They said we aren’t forcing, you’re free to do your own thing
Then do
All that stuff is good to do if you enjoy it.
But if you want to be strong, this should be your priority.
And did this gym owner look like the experienced guys in here? Or move the same weights? Probably not. Anyone who says “need to constantly vary to shock the body” is a fucking moron.
“Muscle Confusion” doesnt exist and was made up by the guy who created P90X
Visual:
He looks like he’s in shape, but clearly not somebody I’d turn to for lifting advice.
“Muscle Confusion” helps beginners stay on track by keeping workouts new and interesting. That’s it.
Yeah, and of course the body will naturally adapt to exercises and loads, but you can mix things up by adding weight or changing the rep range.
Not disagreeing with your point, but I think the term/ concept was actually coined by Joe Weider half a century ago.
Fk nvm.
