I’d also add that long walks before dawn, when possible, are a good way to “work through things”.

Lifting has always been where I take out my emotional pain.

I usually lift more when under stress or emotional pain.

It has always been my respite and place of peace. Even with my broken body now from having abused it for so long heavily.

Hit the gym twice this week. Did back/biceps on Tues and Chest last night. Felt great, finally feel strong again.

Also found doing some farmer’s walk with big kettles or dumbells after each session helps. Something about walking around carrying an additional 100+ pounds really helps me mentally.

Doing basically a bro split for a while just so I can focus on that one muscle group.

This has been one of the most helpful discussions I’ve ever had about lifting. Thank you all.

Glad I saw this - was thinking about how to use dumbbells tomorrow, and now I know the answer - long heavy farmer carries.
