How Do Fat People Live With Themselves?

I’m going to restate this because it was buried in the last page: something like 1/3 of all morbidly obese women were sexually abused as a child.

But what percentage of women in general have been sexually assaulted? Isn’t it like 25%? I’m not trying to downplay the relation that trauma, depression, coping, etc may have on poor eating habits or even serious eating disorders, but if the percentage of abused obese women isnt that much higher than women in general, is it really fair to imply causation?
No, if you read the links I went through the trouble of posting, you would know that the percentage of the general population is much lower than that.

I’m not trying to offend anyone as like most of you i’m far more interested in strength and fitness than wanting to fat or skinny. However has anyone ever wondered if maybe WE are the ones with the problem. How many people are so paranoid wether or not they get their protein shakes in or skip out on fun gatherings because they need to be in the gym. How many bodybuilders are so vain they constantly need the self assurance from other people, you know the whole “bro your so swole” deal.

I think there is so much more that goes on in everyones mind than anyone is willing to let on. A bodybuilder like Ronnie could be worse off mentally than a stick figure guy or an excessivly large guy. I don’t think what weight and body comp you have is nearly as important as in how comfortable you are with yourself. For some it goes hand in hand for others it doesn’t.
Your comment is pretty ignorant. If you knew body builders, you’d know that they spend far more time telling themselves that they look swool than asking other people what they thought.

Also, what’s the point in feeling comfortable with yourself in a state that will cause you to die significantly early and leave your loved ones? I had a client who’s mother passed away of heart failure (she was only 25 when that happened) and that was the wake up call for her that continuing to say “it’s okay” was not a good plan.

bet your ass any overweight person would much rather remain themselves and overweight than switch places with this fucking psychopath-in-waiting who poisons this environment daily

i’d love to kick the shit out of you

I don’t really care if your fat or not, what i do care about though is how society accepts fatness like it’s just an illness or normal. Your fat because your greedy…infact a greedy fat person and are costing our health services a fortune. Some of you may have a mental illness but a huge percentage are just a greedy fat person(s).

Your too lazy to exercise, too weak to try to eat properly, break far too easily when dieting, maybe got brought up by idiot parents who plied you with food or think that your unlucky with your body…get real, your just a greedy fat person!

Now your thinking what a prick, hating on fat people but im not, im pointing out they’re fat for a simple reason and it’s just one of the single defining traits of human nature…greed. Wether it be for women, money, cars or food. Unfortunately fat people selected the wrong thing to be greedy for :stuck_out_tongue:

Fat people want to be thin. They will do almost anything. Almost. They won’t eat like an adult and exercise like an adult. They look for a magic pill to do it for them. They make me sick when they blame everything else but themselves. It’s like a drunk blaming things in his past for his drinking problem.

Unlike diseases that people happen to attain, fat people choose to be fat. I choose to go to the gym, eat decent, and I reap the rewards of it.

BTW, I’m not as wealthy as I should be. It’s because of the economy, my family, and ummm something other than me.

When the only way they can test you for a brain tumor is in an MRI from the Cleveland Zoo, you know it wouldn’t hurt to miss a meal here and there.

That is like god-tier fat

Does anyone else love seeing bigger people exercise? There is a woman who always leaves my building on her bicycle… she is young, maybe 20 and she is pretty overweight. But she seeing her trudge along every morning at 7am on her bicycle, just makes my day that much better.

Even if she isn’t doing it right, she is still doing it.

I’m empathic enough with people’s problems and do not hate people, but I do not brook excuses. Most need to realize that they are killing themselves. There is no nutritional authority that says 6 liters of soda a day, that much pizza, and Burger King is good for you.

Personal accountability adovactes like me does not necessarily mean people who hate.
Why is it that you think anyone is accountable to you?

(not directed at anyone in particular) But I find it surprising how judgmental and vocal so many Americans are when it comes to fat people considering how Americans like to rage on about personal freedoms, rights and autonomy. It’s very interesting, especially on this forum where there seems to be quite a freedom loving American presence.

Why does the size of someone else’s ass trouble you folks so much? If you say it’s because of the cost of health care I’m going to call bullshit, because there are plenty of other bandwagons to jump on for that.

Shouldn’t I be free to carry 200lbs of fat if I choose?

@ DEBRAD - AWESOME! Nicely said. If you read the original post and then my retort - what’s crazy is the ahole who started all this is going to be a “counselor”…scary stuff.

Sums it up nicely. Also, if I was welfare using scumbag hurting the economy and wearing gross clothes I get a free pass too? It’s my right ya know. Be adults and have some level of responsibility. This is why other countries hate us.
