How About Those Red Raiders

Fantastic tournament! Absolutely unbelievable Saturday and Sunday. Great for the Big Ten I might add. Why not a playoff for football? That would be great as well. I wish the powers that be would look past the money offered by the bowl games and sueeze an extra game or two at the end of the year.

Holy shit! 3 out of 4 of the elite 8 games went in to overtime. All 4 of the teams left are looking unbeatable right now…I would not hesitate to call this one of the best tourneys, if not THE best tourney, ever.

I agree…

I personally think that it is one of the best Tournaments EVER…

Right now, I would call the four teams left a real toss-up…I anticipate the next two games (and the Championship game) all going down to the wire…

Yes I do. Of course I think every March Madness is the best one ever. Can’t beat tourney time with a stick

[quote]2) Is it really time for the NCAA to SERIOUSLY consider a Division 1 Football Playoff? (I think it would work…!)

It’s been past time fro a playoff ever since the success of the 64 team basketball playoffs became apparent to everyone but the BCS folks.

The BCS is a waste of time and money. All teams play 11+ games, some as many as 14. What’s wrong with adding 2 or 3 more weeks to the season?

(By the way…for those who may not know…there are already Football playoffs in both Division 2 and Division 3…so logistically, it CAN be done…)

Just thought I’d add that…!

This NCAA tournament has been the best one in my memory. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more OT games!

I’ve always liked the idea of keeping the bowl games, then adding one or two more rounds to determine the NCAA Div. 1 Football champion.

I enjoy watching all the bowl games, and the interesting match-ups some of them give us. But, I also want a tournament feel and championship for football. The BCS formula blows! I’d rather we go back to strictly voting for the chamion as opposed to the BCS garbage. Waiting for the polls to come out after the bowl games added a bit of excitement

I don’t want to take away from “March Madness…”…but I think that many of us, because of the Baskeball Tournament, see the potential in Football…

The Major (“BCS”)Bowls already rotate the Championship game…so I think that it would be a “simple” thing to rotate a playoff schedule…

Anyway…back to Basketball…

What a GREAT tournament! Next weekend and Monday Night should be FUN!!!

Anyone watching the women’s tournament as well? It’s been pretty exciting, but not quite the OT excitement as on the men’s side this year. After a 3 year reign, UConn was finally de-throned last night.

UNC and Mich. St. has the chance to have both a men’s and women’s final four team.
