Does anyone else find this fucking hilarious. A guy called House names his kid Shed. Is that for real even?

Sorry, mate. I thought my joke was obvious.
But damn, what if he DID name his son Shed… and in translation it means something grand. lol

I face away, the way our pads are I’m not sure I could do it facing it, but I will try this week.

Apparently his calves aren’t quite big enough.[/quote]
an entire year to gain 10-15 lbs. of contest weight, presumably with some super supplement help. Anyone out there reading that? An entire year for this guy to gain 10-15 lbs., and how much do you want to build?
In the vid, Eric says his son’s name is Xavier, and his soon-to-be born daughter will be London Avery… which means her initials will be LAF. lol

The key here is contest weight. Which I imagine to be pure LBM, no water or anything. And I imagine some muscle is lost in the dieting down process even for pros.
Also, he’s an advanced bodybuilder, and even though is using super supps, his body is probably fighting him a lot more to put on those 15lbs than a guy between 180-220 at 15% bf.
but I see what you’re sayin.

Yup. I tried facing away, but the ROM feels terrible for me. It’s similar to a hack squat, and whenver I do a hack my knees want to shoot out in front of my toes and my heels come up. I’d put my feet farther out in front of me but then i’m obviously not hitting my quads enough.
You can do these one of two ways IMO. First, is to open your knees and just drop down. Sort of a straight up and down squat. The other way, the way he was doing them in the vid, is where you begin by pushing your ass out as far as possible and your knees don’t travel forward very far.
I like the second way, although it definitely hits the glutes much more than the first.

You always lose some muscle when dieting down… Plus he is likely going to do multiple shows and can’t really do a proper off-season? Most of these guys have that problem… Multiple shows a year = oft-interrupted off-season/need to stay rather lean.
Plus what bug said about him being an advanced guy.

OMG
My dad had massive calves like that but I had forgotten until this pic gave me a flashback, since I haven’t seen him or his calves in about 15 years.
My gym has a lot of Body Masters brand equipment. The super squat (image hopefully attached) has a back pad with shoulder padding, but there’s an arc that comes up and out that gives a comfortable shoulder pad for when you’re facing towards the machine (similar to the one in the video). I’d estimate it could hold 10-12 plates, though I won’t find that out for a while.
Many thanks for the inspiration to give this a try. Still getting used to using the machine because of foot placement, but definitely “feels good man”. You can go deep very comfortably, and you definitely feel it in the quads without worrying about back fatigue. Double plus good for us tall lifters.
Why are you guys acting like that piece of equipment is alien to you? Is it honestly that rare?
I have seen it in every gym I’ve gone to and I love it for squats. I face the back pad and it really hits the glutes well. I prefer it to barbell squats.

The more I see of US gyms, the more it makes me realise how crappy most UK ones are. I’ve never seen anything like that over here!
