4 to 5 hours on a good night. For some of the people that get tons of sleep, how the hell do you manage that?
I get 7 3 days a week, 9 4 days a week, as some days I go to work a bit earlier. The way i see it, sleep 8 hours, work 8 hours, leaving 8 more hours to work out/ eat/ get dressed / shower / hang out, etc. How are people in school not getting enough sleep? In college I used to get 10 hours of sleep every day…
damn what kind of classes did you take and what were your grades like? Were you working out at the time?

I worked out all through college. I was a Kinesiology major, so my last two years I took things like anatomy, biomechanics, physiology. However, I was working part time at the time as well. Had about 15 hours of class per week, worked 10ish, and did school related work for maybe 10 hours a week. I ended up with like a 3.3.
A friend of mine that I work with only sleeps 5 or 6 hours a night, but he’s in school full time and works up to 30 hours a week, commuting about an hour to work and an hour to school, sometimes coming to work in the morning, going to campus, coming back to work, and then going home. I can understand not sleeping enough in that case. However, I think most people that don’t sleep enough are just in a habit of only sleeping 5 or 6 hours a day. If I could get away with it, I would… it’d be nice to have a few more hours each day!
6-9 I would guess. When I get 6 I’m never right until lunch time. If I get 6 or less a few days in a row, performance in the gym suffers. Getting older isn’t good. I use to be able to pull 40 on weekends and another 30 during the week and exercise about 7 hours a week…never happen these days.
I don’t function well on less than 8. People who live their lives getting like 5-6 hours a night always amaze me…especially ones who train really hard. If I get 6 hours one night then I’m usually dragging ass the next day but I can make it if I psych myself up. Two+ days in a row and I’m a fucking walking zombie.
The last 2 nights my sleep has only been a little less than normal and I’m tired as hell right now. Seems to happen a lot actually, unless I’m standing up/walking around

That’s what I’m saying. It’s like when I only get 7 or 7.5 I actually feel it. My fiance thinks I’m retarded and it’s all in my head, but there are definitely some physiological changes going on.
It kinda makes sense to me in regards to people who don’t train. If you lead a sedentary lifestyle then maybe you require less sleep to feel ‘normal’.
But I know some guys who fucking blast it like 5 days a week and sleep 5 hours a night…amazing

I get up once or twice to take a piss. But usually no more than two times a night.
I usually get about 6ish. I’m only taking 12 hours of classes, but I had two jobs up until last week, and was lifting. I started waking up at 6:30 instead of 7:30 to get my cardio in. I lift between 10am and noon on Tuesday and Thursday, and whenever I feel ready Saturday and Sunday, usually right before the cafeteria opens. I usually get off work at 11pm and spend the next hour or two studyin/bullshitting and the like. I don’t seem to really be affected by it.

I get up at least 3 times a night to pee, sometimes more. I swear, I can stop drinking at 7 PM and go to bed at 10 and I will still wake up several times. Last night I was up every 2 hours! It sucks. God I would love to hit the sack and not wake up until the next morning. I used to be able to do that when I was young, but haven’t been able to in years.
6-7… maybe more on the weekends. i find if i get more i usually dont want to wake up for 10 to 12 hrs. and that messes up my sleep pattern. i regularly invert it. because i randomly cant sleep.
people usually take 3-4 hrs to complete a sleep cycle. you need 2 cycles. everybody sleeps differently(quality and need). also, ive read that some people “back in the day” used to sleep for 4-ish hrs then wake up for a few hrs and do chores, have sex, etc. then go back to sleep for 4-ish hrs… possibly to make up for longer nights?
I gotta get up at 06.30 for work so i am usually in bed by 10, sometimes 11. On the wkends i tend to stick to the schedule, though i wake a little later, 9-10am.
When i was an intern last year i used to sleep at ANY given opportunity. I even slept in class and almost got suspended for it. But as a student your life is so all over the place you never know when you can sleep. Establishing a sleeping pattern is hard, best to just get as much of it as possible.
I know people who go out thurs, fri, sat. Maybe another day during the week. I dunno how they survive on the 4-6hrs sleep. But then 1) they’re use to it, its their lifetyle… and they’re happy feeling tired or getting sick regularly 2) i mean these people aren’t in the gym busting their chops having to prepare mentally and physically for another ME day.

same, I can’t remember the last time I went through the night.
Last night I went to a party last minute and tried to go to sleep at 1:30am but didn’t until maybe 2:30. Then I woke up at 6 to shut some dumbasses alarm off, again at 7 to help clean up and then I just went home and slept for maybe 1.5 hours…

I don’t take that many pisses, maybe one. I usually just wake up thirsty or my arms go numb to a point it wakes me up. I don’t remember the last time I went the whole night without sleeping. When I nap though which is rare, I’m out pretty hard.

Actually, come to think of it, the only time I sleep through the night is when I get piss drunk lol. This last weekend I hit the sack around 1AM and woke up at 8PM.
