I have been out of the weight training loop for some time ( 5 years to be exact). Today was my first day to go back to the gym.
Also, I started the T-Dawg diet. I bought a bottle of Hot-Rox and will use it in conjunction with the diet. Also, I am interested in Tribex and Mag-10. Is it all right to take these supplements along with Hot-Rox? If I do will it negate the effects of the diet and Hot-Rox?
I probably need to say that my main goal to cut down on my body fat while gaining strength. Currently, I am around 25% body fat.
Furthermore, I want to say thanks to T-mag. If I didn’t come across this site I do not think I would of gotten back into the gym.
Silom,
Welcome to the forumn.
While the Mag-10 etc. are great supps. seeing as you are just getting back after5 yeasr off you really need to get some solid training behind you befor turning to PH assistance.
The Tribex coudn’t hurt and might just give you a nice boost in natural test whlie dieting. I would suggest contacting customer servise as to weither it is cool to mix it with Hot-Rox. They will be able to tell you 4 sure.
I know that both are great supps. on thier own just not about the mixability.
Hope that helps,
Phill
They are all good supps, but you wouldn’t increase the benefit by using them all at one time. The following explanation is by no means a thorough treatment of this subject, but I’m sure you’ll be hearing from others as well as me. I’m deliberately keeping it concise.
(Skip to the last paragraph if you want the short form.)
*Hot-Rox would normally be used when trying to lose Body Fat. While taking it, you’d be restricting your caloric intake.
*Mag-10 boosts your body’s ability to add Lean Body Mass (LBM=muscle), and while taking it, you are urged to have intense workouts (see “Growth Surge project”) and pack more clean calories into yourself.
*Tribex boosts the body’s testosterone production, bringing it up to optimal (not “super”) levels in older males whose testosterone levels are lower.
Mag-10 is usually used alone, although there have been a few threads that mention Hot-Rox during a Mag-10 cycle to try to control the effects of the hyper-caloric diet you are probably on while doing heavier workouts. It’s usuallu used for 2 weeks at a time, then…
Tribex is usually used post-Mag-10, to induce the body to start producing testosterone on its own again (Mag-10 boosts testosterone to the point where the body says “Whoa!” and stops producing it itself). Many people use Tribex indefinitely.
Hot-Rox is used for a specific “cutting” phase. While on this cutting phase, nothing says you can’t or shouldn’t use Tribex.
To sum up: most people wouldn’t be using all three at once. Mag-10 would be used for a “bulking” phase with increased calories. Tribex would be used afterward to help restore the body’s natural testosterone production. Hot-Rox would be used a little later, after the LBM gains from the Mag-10 cycle are stable, with a restricted calorie diet to lose excess BF.
Great post, TShaw!!! You said it all and said it eloquently.
Since Mag 10 also helps in preserving lean body mass on a low calorie diet, I believe you can still use it with hot rox. Read issue 189 “Steroid Dieting” by Cy Wilson, which could be very helpful while taking Mag 10. (But use Tampa Terry’s suggestion of using .4g of fat x LBM)
I myself am restricting calories while taking mag 10 and using a power/strength/hypertrophy pendulum. As stated by CT, “Fat loss-type nutrition is better suited to power training because power training has the lowest effect on the muscle structures, so a caloric deficit won’t hurt you much in this case. Even while training for limit strength, which is mostly a neuromuscular thing, you can get away with dieting for one week.” I have been getting good results, thus far, and will save my other bottle of Mag 10 for my muscle building phase. So you can take Mag 10 during your diet.
Thank You Phil and T-Shaw.
I can offer a testamonial. I take Hot-Rox and Tribex at the same time. I’ve trained hard in the past and usually get good results. This time coming back into training I’ve restricted my calories the most I’ve ever done. I’m training very hard using the EDT.
Things I’ve noticed from doing Hot-Rox and Tribex together.
Hot_Rox suppresses my appetite. It makes it easier to stay with the program. I’ve also noticed that it made my body temp warmer. I’ve experienced a gentle warmer after my second daily dose.
Tribex gave me greater strength. MY muscle came back quicker that it had ever done before. Plus I’m 31 years old so my T levels aren’t like they were in college. The only nasty side effects to Tribex that I experienced were night sweats and insomnia. That lasted for about 4 weeks. I don’t have those any more.
HOpe that helps
