Anyways,I only pointed out that you jumped the gun in being critical of those who recognize the OBVIOUS racial(and derogatory) connotations of the word “wigger.” Those pointing this OBVIOUS fact out are read by you as being sensitive “race police” and emotional and angry. You did this,yet you recognize how that word can offend.

Maybe you’re the hyper-sensitive person…as I don’t know what else can explain your accusations and assumptions. But that doesn’t get me all upset enough to paint you in a negative light…as you ASSUME. I am capable of disagreeing with people without having to hate them…you should know this.

But maybe we are misreading each other because you came into this thread so focused on the not-so-obvious context of humor with the word…while I was addressing the obvious specifics of the word itself.

I am rarely upset by anything posted here and post mostly for debate (and this thread was going to be read a couple thousand times easily by simply pointing out the faults of the OP). I think there’s a subtle difference in blacks using the N-word and whites doing it. Similar to how it’s different for girls or women to joke about rape as it is for boys and men. The people that whom the word or concept touches have a certain experience or understanding of the issue that those outside of the demographic do not, and for them to talk about it in a lighthearted manner can be their coping mechanism or/and a way to deal with an issue. It’s pretty intuitive but understandable.

That said, engaging in that speech in the view of the ‘alien’ demographics can be risky.

Well, I’m Ranger qualified, which means I went to Ranger school and made it through that 61 days of hell… of course my branch is Air Defense and they don’t have too many of them (if ANY) at the Ranger Batts… And don’t think opening a new account in 2010 hasn’t crossed my mind more than once… if I knew then what I know now, I would have signed up a few years ago instead of simply lurking around…
