But our interpretation is still valid. Let’s use a term like decimate. It means reduction by 1/10 and was used as punishment by Roman commanders. they would kill randomly 1/10 of the troops under their command as both motivation and punishment.

You really believe that? You truly believe that all things associated with youth that people over 40 don’t care about makes the infatuations of youth invalid? REALLY?
I am not even knocking your age because I’m early 30’s myself but if you really think that your concerns at 40+ are more valid simply because you are 40, then you must look down on everyone younger than you who has different interests.
That is one ridiculous way to look at life. That makes about as much sense as people who say, “don’t get a tattoo because you won’t like how it looks when you turn 70”. If you are waiting until you are old to enjoy life instead of realizing that every second and era-related concern is what life is about…then you aren’t even fucking living.
Slang may be “stupid” to you…simply because you live a life without it. I know old black men in my old neighborhood who still use slang. It is CULTURAL and has much less to do with youth itself than you seem to think…even though the younger generations are often who come up with it. Many older people still use the slang of their own youth. I suppose you consider all of them to be “stupid” as well.
I speak a certain way at work. I speak a little differently when surrounded by friends of the same cultural background. Using slang in and of itself does not have any bearing on intellect.

I just got back from the grocery store and ran in to use the bathroom (because CT and Tim have me drinking more water than I ever did in my life), and a white guy in his mid 40’s walked in right ahead of me while talking on his cell phone. He opens the door for me and continues on with his relatively loud conversation about some woman he and his friend met the other night and how HOT she was.
Mind you, he is well dressed, mid 40’s and upon speaking to him on my way out, I find that he is a lawyer at a large law firm in Houston…who uses the word HOT to describe women he saw.
To my knowledge, “hot” is slang and I doubt he was referring to her temperature.
