So 50% done, not going to lie the last two workouts have been incredibly tough which coincides with the total weight swung being above 12k. My hand is becoming a real pain with the grip and doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

The tale of three attempts
Session 1 was 50 swings and then my youngest was up with a high temperature and heart rate
Session 2 was 250 swings and some Swiss bar benching. My 3 year old was out with me and made me laugh on a couple of sets telling me she loved it. Had to go in to allow mrs to get ready to take the other one to hospital for a check to make sure she’s not having a reaction to her new meds
Session 3 was 200 reps finished off in a hurry. Got a couple of PR sets with 24kg bell 40 rep set and 30 rep set with 28kg. Absolutely sweating my tits off.

Ended up taking my 3 year old in to hospital as her heart rate and temperature still crazy high. Looks like a fever with nothing too worry about as long as it comes down. Bit of a shit couple of days nutrition wise as I had bad stomach yesterday so didn’t eat much.
Tried to work out how I can do z press with barbell as part of core 5/3/1 lifts but don’t think I’ll be able to incorporate based off todays session. I have to unrack the bar sitting down and then shuffle myself forward to avoid hitting my rack. Might have to be an incline press as I don’t want to OHP outside so as not to be an inconsiderate bastard and wake the neighbours up when I train early in the morning
Missed a rep off the top set, think fatigue was the issue and bar speed was slow.
My 3yr old got up again early and was crying for me and came out to the shed to see me. Obviously, without question, she is my priority over finishing off some KB swings. This puts me in a position where I now “owe” swings. I’m going to get the tomorrow and will do them via a Livitnov workout where I’ll take my 24kg bell out to the local green.

Can feel my fitness has improved as a result of this challenge as this was a relatively easy session. Only issue was some tiredness in my legs towards end of the session
Finished and took my 8yr old to a transition day for going into a special school. I got to stay with her the 3 hours she was there and it was an immensely positive and uplifting experience. Feel happy that she is going there full time from September.
Officially hit the wall with this one today. Got to the 300 mark and I really thought I wasn’t going to finish it, why am I doing this etc. needless to say I got shit done and finished the session, only 7 sessions/3500 swings to go. Couldn’t do much in the way of swings as I couldn’t grip the bar very well. On the plus side the floor presses were easy, right side moved nicely.
My ring finger on RH has swollen up so having to ice and use Ibuprofen to try and reduce the swelling. Only really got in the way last 150 reps or so and I’ve figured out why, I get so much sweat on the bells and my hands my LH is starting to slide to compensate for the sweat and blisters and a lot of the swing is going through my finger. Going to tough it out for the next 5 sessions and it’s done.

Took an extra rest day which wasn’t planned but couldn’t make any time yesterday to train. Swelling went down and able to grip on my left a little better but only took about 100 swings to aggravate it all back up. Just 4 to go….
Don’t know why it hadn’t occurred to me but I taped my finger up today like I did when playing rugby and that made the grip easier. Today was a real struggle, every fibre of me was telling me to quit at about 350 reps, given the humidity inside my gym shed the session today was a real slog. Happy I managed to get it done in about 50 minutes, quitting is not an option.

Just at the point where I want this to end. 1000 swings to go. Really struggling building momentum, not sure if it’s the fact I’m in a decent sized deficit but going to add in a few calories today and next couple of days to see me through. On the plus side the unilateral floor press was moving nicely, didn’t feel much difference between right and left.
