Home DIY: UV Window Film

Planning to turn one of my bedrooms into an office. And will display all my autographed sports memorbillia. Currently have over $10,000 in valuebles.

I was wondering if anyone here has experiance with placing UV protectant film on their home windows to reduce UV damage. And how effective is this? Is it safe and reliable. I know there is no 100% UV blocking film ( other then completel black ).

What do you think?
I would hate to display my collection only to see it fade away over time.

I talked with a guy in OH who sells film ( Im sure you can buy it anywhere, probally even home depot etc…) But he said most clear films block 99.5 % UV rays.

I tinted the windows on my garage to keep people from seeing my tools. It works well when there is not a light on inside but becomes pretty transparent when the garage lights are on. It sucked putting up though I even had the right squeeges and edgers.

My biggest problem was getting the film on without little creases or tears. It would not have been satisfactory in a house. But if you have more patience than me and someone to help it shoutldnt be that bad
