Why would he not smile ?? He made it there, and fairly lean in fact. The only thing is his obvious synthol use, but even then he brought what HE thought was his best to the stage on that night - quite frankly I have seen competitors way worst than this guy smiling on contest day.
Their family and friend are there, they’re happy to step onstage or they juste want to present themselves in the best possible way. Poise and confidence onstage can go a long way in a bbing comptetition. Obviously his arms don’t look good at all and he got the placing he deserved, but while he’s there it’s only normal to smile, whatever the reason.
Clearly the only important thing about one’s physique is how large one’s biceps are. Symmetry, balance, and proportion be damned.
