Is HIV awareness a part of bodybuilding? It just occurred to me to with injectables floating around this may be the case.
Does anyone know the effects intense weight training has on HIV and vice versa?

what’s HIV? never heard of it
But seriously,
With the amount of time and effort the ‘users’ no this site put into their decisions and choices, I am pretty sure they are extremely careful of needle infections etc. (they aren’t junkies)
For your second question: Since HIV/AIDS is a muscle wasting disease, patients who do lift weights regularly (while consuming adequate protein) would probably retain their mass for a longer time. this would elongate their life and enhance its quality (as long as they dont go too far/overexert)
Unless you’re referring to those bodybuilders that bang rich guys to pay for their gear, then no, HIV awareness is not a part of bodybuilding.
Furthermore, I don’t think it would be a good idea for an individual with a low T-Cell count to be engaging in bodybuilding-style workouts. Someone with a compromised immune system would be at risk of picking up a variety of germs and bacteria from sweaty gym equipment, which could be disastrous depending on the stage of progression of their HIV/AIDS. I would also expect the body’s ability to fully recover after a rigorous workout to be severely impaired.

And another thread devolves into a discussion of the merits of the T-Cells…
