only built for cuban links vs liquid swords

which one do you think is the better album and why?

Years ago I would have said Liquid Swords, but now when I listen to it, I don’t feel it like I used to. I still like the album, but I can’t name one track that really stands out.

Honestly though, it’s not really a fair comparison. Cuban Links was basically a Raekwon AND Ghostface album, while Liquid Swords was only GZA.

Anyway, Cuban Links is better, in my opinion.
the biggest thing which leads me to prefer GZA’s liquid sword, is the fact you can go back too the cd and still find a line that makes you go farrrrk…

and btw you dont need a college degree to understand a gza or rza song, you just need a high school degree and a basic knowledge of religion too understand everything they spit. Canibus on the other hand if you dont have a masters in biochemical physics your screwed

is anyone looking forward to jeezy’s new album? he has stepped his rap game up and I’m willing to say the best ear for beats. Nothing better than deadlifting then getting the jeezy adlib yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as your pulling

Tech N9ne is my favorite by far. If you really listen to his lyrics, he is a pretty smart guy. He raps about a variety of things. I really like how deep he gets, like how he gets in ‘The Rain’.

One of the songs I heard today from his new CD talked about Darwinism and Creationism, using those words exactly. I was impressed because one of the top songs in america is about “getting silly”. retarded.
I feel that what he talks about in “Flash/Your Decent” is very important.

My mom taught jeezy’s son honestly. She is a 4th grade teacher. He reps Hawkinsville and ATL. yyeaahhhh lol

this is one thing that shits me up the wall no end, hilltop hoods are so overrated in australia I saw them at big day out this year, and yeah they’re pretty good but australia treats them like they’re rakim, jay-z, dr dre and such…

the other thing that annoys me and this better not be your answer to the question, when they say they listen to aussie hip hop the general response is the no bleed section, song is ass cheeks

so whats your favourite song?

btw anyone seen the out here grinding clip? im pissed as hell shit is lame as fuck, the put on video is alright but it looks like kanye is trying to take a shit in his pants for half the clip

I agree about them be overrated, there are heaps of better acts coming out of Australia: Layla, Drapht, Morganics, Julez, MC Liones…I could go on.

I haven’t listened to anything of Hilltop since The Calling, so that speaks for itself.

Oh yeah, Simmy And The Gravyspitter is my favorite song from the album.

I’m pretty sure that the vast majority of influential and talented hip hop artist from the states have been posted already in either this article or prior ones, so I’ll through my hat in the ring with something international.

MC Solaar

I don’t know a word of French, but I like a lot of his songs.

A few that haven’t been mentioned already:

De La Soul
Organized Konfusion
Pharaoh Monch
Brand Nubian
Aceyalone

keak da sneak, mac dre, the frontline, outkast, three six mafia, aesop rock, tech n9ne, the pack, messy marv/bullys wit fullys, the cool kids, e-40, big kanye fan…etc.

bullys wit fullys (messy marv, guce & clyde carson) - so hood

keak da sneak - town business

san quinn - san francisco anthem

traxamillion feat. husalah and jacka - from the hood

game ft lil wayne

thank me later

Keak Da Sneaaak- That Go

Spank Rock- Bootay

old but what the hell

Federation- 18 Dummy

The Pack- I Look Good

Lupe Fiasco- Failure (offishal nisshal)

Agreed. I love how he can “hardcore” rap, but still tell stories about his life. After listening to him, you feel bad he doesn’t see his kids and his relationship with his wife. I love ‘Psycho Bitch II’ and ‘Too Much For You’ on Killer.
