Do you support ANYTHING? That’s the trouble with you European cowards. You don’t take any sort of stand, except on the sidelines to jeer.
Any time anyone takes a position, they are open to criticism. You choose to avoid the criticism by avoiding any and all moral rectitude.
Now the problem: extremists see your inaction. They stream into your cities. They gang rape your women and gang up on your sons. Your cities soon become pestholes, like the Muslim suburbs of Paris or the same shit in Sweden. They see that you are wishy washy and not very firm in your convictions, and take advantage.
Well, that’s History. The weak get ploughed under by the strong. The Muslims will bury you. Are you happy that your children get to live under Sharia Law? That squalling screehing imams will call to prayer outside your door?
Yeah, there’s your ‘morally upright’ non-committal Europeans…
Reagan’s people brought “spin” into the modern era. Clinton’s people took Reagan’s lesson on spin, improved upon them and added elements of Nixon like information control. Bush’s people took the lesson from Clinton and stepped them up a notch. We saw the most stringent attempts at information control, both in what got out of the Whitehouse and in attempting to influence or cow reporters when possible, and we saw the adoption of the innovative spin techniques developed by the GOP congressional leadership in the 90s. Every successful --in electoral terms-- president for at least the past half century has taken the lessons of the last and “improved” upon them. I have every expectation that the winner of the next election will be the one best able to take the lessons of Bush and step it up a notch, of course without looking too much like Bush himself.
In this particular case, I think the plant thing is, always has been, and always will be standard. I don’t think anyone will be able to get away with giving speeches almost exclusively in front of pre-screened audiences as we saw in Bush’s campaign in '04. Too much taint for too little benefit for the next few cycles. So the plants will be especially plentiful this cycle.
Both Hillary and Giuliani are purely Machiavellian at best, and narcissistic sociopaths at worst, so I expect to see a great campaign-- at least from an academic perspective.
Let’s get this straght. This is your defence? Is it?
So a guys with absolutely no journalistic credentials is allowed into the press room, is allowed to ask quetions on a daily basis and your defense is that his questions were so pro-Bush that they couldn’t have been planted by Bush or any of his people.
Is that right?
Is it me getting smarter every day, or are you getting thicker every day?
muffinman,
No.
Read my posts. You’ll see that the bar for entrance to the press briefings is very low.
Sum up: Bush never planted questions.
hillary does.
The muffinman has been exposed as a dunce once again.

I’ve read your post. You said "Finally, THERE IS NO WAY ON THIS EARTH THAT IF GANNON WAS A PLANT THE ADMINISTRATION WOULD PLANT THIS QUESTION:…
How transparent would that have been?!? "
So that was your defence. But now you claim you never said that. Now you flip-flop into: " bar for entrance to the press briefings is very low."
That’s another lie. You can’t really mean a guy with no journalistic credentials can get in and is allowed to ask questions on a daily basis. Don’t you have real reporters in the US? I guess you don’t, since you have this gay escort guy posing as a journalist asking the US president friendly questions. And this is the kind of democracy you wasted thousands of lives on, trying to export it to Iraq ? ? ?

That’s it? Well, I am just so overwhelmed by your response that I have to acknowledge your superiority in such a discussion. Wow, you really got me there!
Since Jeff is clobbering you, I guess you just had to smash my argument to pieces here. I will now slink off into the darkness.

I wouldn’t waste my time, Jeff. Facts and truth are as insignifigant to wreckless as his presense on these boards and likely in the world.
So facts and truth are important to you eh? Let’s see how well you do then.
He doesn’t mind killing as long as people such as you or I are the victims.
That’s not a fact. Where did you get that from? I don’t support any killing. You on the other hand support the invasion of Iraq, killing hundreds of thousands of people.
He supports muslim extremists and and virutally every ruthless oppresive dictator in the world.

Shit, this guy makes lixy look down right resonable. But at least lixy has an excuse, he been duped and indoctrinated into extremism. This nimrod has nothing but his own hate to keep him warm at night.
And you sir, are full of crap.[/quote]
Not any more, I just took a huge crap. Ironically, when I looked in the toilet to admire the volume and girth of the deposit, I saw your effigy.
