HGH: A How-To Guide

HGH can negatively affect glucose tolerance, hba1c etc.

What do you think are the best ways to avoid problems with HGH (for ex insulin resistance), in terms of when to inject, diet, not eating before/after injections for a certain amount of time, etc…?

Timing matters less than dose when it comes to insulin resistance. If that’s a concern then metformin or berberine is an option.

Thanks, is fasting blood sugar the way to monitor insulin resistance on blood tests? Anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Have you tried GH again since that negative experience not too long ago?

HGH can kick up some joint issues, just be aware. For me HGH kicks up shoulder tendonitis and knee pain, both old injuries. When I stop HGH, it goes away in a week, and when I’m back on it it starts again within days. Just got back on last week, looks like I’m in for a few months of shoulder pain haha.

No way, are you serious? Part of the reason I’m excited about GH is because of its supposed healing powers. I have a bunch of small nagging injuries that never healed after I passed 35yo. I was hoping GH would help with those, not make them worse!

I was hoping the same things. I felt fine when I was off. TBH I was happy to find out it was the GH. No matter how I rehabbed my shoulder nothing helped. The sides so far are worth it to me, I take 2 iu’s a night. When I took a hiatus I realized how much it was helping with fat loss.

Yeah, FBG is probably the best way to monitor insulin resistance outside of actual blood work that can delve deeper.

As far as restarting GH, I’m torn. I’d like to give it another go, but I don’t know when. Maybe in a few months. Maybe tonight. Who knows? Sometimes I just bite the bullet and start something when I’m stuck deciding what to do.

I’ve been running it for a week now ramping up from 2.5iu → 3iu now. Haven’t noticed anything other than I seem to be holding 5 more lbs than normal. I’m going to get bloodwork in 2-3 weeks to confirm its the legit. Up to 4iu soon and thats where I will hold for the next 3 months.

So I have stopped my HGH injections. I believe there is something wrong with the beautifully packaged UGL HGH I purchased. I’d post a picture but the mods would just delete it like the last time. I wish I knew the technical terms to describe what is happening.
I am developing lumps at the injection site that lasts for about 5 days.
I first thought maybe my bacstat water was bad. So I open a new bottle and syringe and filled a new HGH vial. I only injected 2IU’s in a new location and sure enough 24hours later a lump under my skin appeared. It is not red or hot and does not hurt. It is just there. I am not taking any more chances with this stuff. Now I just hope their anavar is legit. Testing it is a month away do to a blood test I need to run for my doc.

I hope you guys agree it is important to report failed experiments along with the successes. That is the only way we can help one another. If you were lucky enough to see the picture I posted of the HGH I bought before the mods removed it. You would know to avoid this product if you see it on your gear site.

You got some impure stuff. High dimer content leads to what you’re describing.

HGH is hard to make. Like, really fucking hard. The equipment is expensive and no UGL has the cash to lay out for that kind of setup. But luckily China is full of enterprising and shady people. Most “generic” HGH is made in facilities that by day make dehydrated fruit. But at night…the less scrupulous gentlemen of Wuhan show up with their raw materials in hand and try to turn out a decent enough product. Most of the time the purity is in the 92-94% range and the dimer is 1-2%. Dimer is bad. The very very basic explanation is that two molecules are bound together (dimerization) instead of remaining single separate molecules in a chain. These dimerized molecules cannot attach to the GHR (growth hormone receptors) and the result is side effects such as red welts at injection site, additional water retention, CTS, etc.

Have you tried taking less, maybe just 1iu/day? From reading around a bit, it seems joint pain is a common side effect along with water retention, carpal tunnel, etc…maybe try a smaller dose and see if it gets better.

I’ll keep an eye on FBG (fasted just means you got blood drawn while fasted, right? The test I’m looking for is just “glucose” on the lab results?).

Thanks for the explanation on dimer and purity levels, I’ve been missing that piece of information for a while now, makes a lot of sense.
Is it possible in your opinion that there are differences in purity levels between different pharma grade GH brands? Let’s say both pharmas are legit FDA approved for GH therapy in the US but one pharma is $50 billion and the other only $2 billion and not as famous?

I hear you about pulling the trigger when stuck. I almost started Anavar this morning even though I’m about to start GH and am trying to stick to adding only 1 variable at a time. Just having that stuff stare at me every morning is testing my patience.

@hrdlvn, I would definitely stop the GH, I remember those pictures and there were several things wrong with that brand, including the fact that their website was just a single page of Chinese casino ads.
Pharma GH is expensive but compounded pharma Anavar is cheap, if you’re in the US I think it’d really be worth it to go through an anti-aging clinic and get a script for it. Think about it, you could even legally travel while blasting Var (depending on where you’re going of course, but still). The price difference imo isn’t worth the risks

I think the differences at that level are probably indistinguishable. The standards of FDA approval and continued oversight mean that the pharma brands have to really be precise, especially with something like GH.

I’m not sure that dose is high enough for much of an impact, and I’m willing to bet if it actually is GH it’s still going to carry the sides at any level. Wouldn’t bother me at all if it wasn’t baseball season, and the issue is my throwing arm haha.

I have run into an issue that I can’t tell if it’s related to the HGH or not. Little history.
Was taking 6iu/3 days per week starting last year. Was doing a slight bulk so calories/carbs were high. No issues in fact bloods were great. After that took some time off between cycles but kept the GH at 2iu. Again pre cycle bloods were good. Started a primo/test/deca cycle with some orals mixed in that I finished in April. Also taking 6iu HGH daily and experimented a little with T3 for the last 5 weeks as my bloodwork showed T3 level right at the bottom. During this cycle I was very low carb trying to cut. 40-50 grams per day. The HGH i had been using was Pharma. Was feeling great and fat was dropping. Cycle ended april 16 and went on vacation for a week. At that time I went back to trt test of 130/wk and started titrating down the T3. Upon return, resumed the HGH at 2iu daily but switched to UGL.Went for bloods a week after coming back on 5/3 to make sure all looked good before doctor bloods on 5/10. This brings me to my situation.
The results show blood glucose of 105. I have never been that high before in my life. Been in the 90’s occasionally buy never out of range. So i’m looking at 3 different possibilities here. I have found info on all 3 possibilities but don’t always understand the articles.:

1- The elevated T3 has raised the blood glucose. Stopped taking on 5/4. Would this be enough time to clear from the body and see glucose drop by 5/10?

2-The HGH is causing the rise. When I first began the HGH last year I noticed a bit of Neuropathy in my knee and ankles. Didn’t really think anything of it. When I went on vaca and stopped taking it for a week it went away. Came home and began again and now it’s back. Prior bloods have not shown elevated glucose.

3-Was on very low carbs before vaca and even though my goal was to lose weight over vaca I jumped into carbs like a freak. Was prob consuming 3-400 grams per day from 40-50 before. Could this jump in carbs cause insulin resistance and lead to higher glucose level? Would it still be elevated a week after going back on plan? Wasn’t eating shit carbs, Mostly bread, potatoes and some pancakes. I still did mange to come home 2lbs lighter than when I left. We did mountain bike and hike a lot though.

4-Just a lab issue?

So the question is:
I have ceased T3 so if that were the issue I should see a drop in glucose level after another week has gone by i’d imagine?
I am still taking hgh at 2iu nightly. Should i continue so I can keep things more constant going into doctor bloods?
Ant other possibilities?
Thanks in advance.

Well been on 4iu/night for three weeks now. Thoughts… my muscles look way fuller. I’m maybe starting to lean out a bit too. I feel tired a lot and slight joint pain that’s it. So far so good. Just got labs and it’s def legit!

I think the blood work looks about right.

Yeah me too and it’s right where I want to be. High but not too high IMO. Must be good stuff too cuz I’m feeling very little sides.

To what extent does HGH shut down natural production?
