Here We Speak Awesome

930!!! DAMN!!! Thats nice and high for a man your age!

AND YET, Don, I am a skinny bitch.

Where’s the justice?

Your a lean sex machine…count your blessings

Congrats on T results. Keep it up.

Crippler’s sleep study suggestion is probably your next step. A friend has had great results with his sleep apnea treatments.

930! Wow. I’m probably about 1/20th of that if I’m lucky.

Hmm. . . It does compound the mystery regarding being so tired.

Ok I get it, you wanted an answer and reasons for your tiredness, etc. I’ve been there. But as you mentioned before, in Canada your Dr wouldn’t have been able to give you any boosters really. So onto the next phase.

Thanks for all the advice and comments, folks. The whole business about my T levels is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I’m stoked my levels are 95%ile. It means I’m at the best possible place a man can be particularly as I slide through middle age.

On the other, is the mystery of being tired (partially solved, see below). But also the ongoing annoyance that despite impressive T levels I never got to be a big over-muscled beast of a man, and never will be. Once I get back down to being 170 lb and all ripped up, that’s as good as I will ever be.

Sigh.

JUST THE FACT MA’AM
T pushups - 3x10
A1 Bent over bb rows - 4x8 x 155lb
A2 Incline db bench - 4x9 x 65 lb
B1 chins - 3x12 x bw
B2 Scott press - 3x12 x 35 lb
Side planks - 3x30s

This is the end of the high-rep-lower-weight week, and everything feels great. Next week starts a new cycle. It’s kinda 5/3/1, which I like.

When I was eating at a surplus I stopped taking any supplements except fish oil and vitamin D (because… Canada in winter). This week I re-started with the full pharmacy. This includes GI stuff (enzymes and probiotics), joint health stuff (Borage, primrose, ALCAR), fat burners, and vitamins (B, D, ZMA). There’s been a definite boost in energy. So things are feeling very positive.

I also shaved my upper body for the first time in six weeks, so that’s probably a pound of scale weight right there.

Any pics of the before and after shave?

You may never get to be one of the BB freaks you see but not many do. Nothing wrong with becoming the most (insert what you want) guy for your age/size. Young, ripped, muscular, in shape people are a dime a dozen now. Want some attention, be that way at 50+.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, if so, ignore me. Have you had your thyroid numbers looked at? The T level is great!
My thyroid numbers took a dive after massive weight loss. I was still in range, mind you, but at the top end.
I was gaining weight, couldn’t sleep, felt lethargic and a little bit of a mental fog (more than normal). They put me on Synthroid, got me down from a 3.98 to a 1.4 (TSH) and the world changed for the better.

Happy Father’s Day x5.

Hmmm maybe I need to do all of this too, sign me up.

Just the upper body… WHAT??No manscaping ??

Trolling for pictures are we? Yeah, I promised once the burns and peeling died down I’d do an update. Tonight I’ll snap some shots and upload tomorrow.

@hel320, thanks for the wisdom. It’s just that I have always been striving for a higher level of achievement. Reality is, the game has changed and now it’s about holding ground. That’s a weird shift, and it requires a shift in world view. One I didn’t want to make yet. But life sucks, so deal with it.

@minimaltechno, I don’t recommend the vitamin panel unless you have a reason for it. It’s about a $150-200 a month habit.

Oh, there is most DEFINITELY manscaping. But when you have as much hair as I got, and it’s been unaddressed for two months, one goes in stages. Lower body comes next.

And for no particular reason here’s my daughter showing me her injured finger. No, she’s not expressing her thoughts on my humor, or her dislike for peas, she’s actually showing me her hurt finger.

Edited for excessive attitude.

ACTUAL LIFTING SH##

One month into the diet and the fat is coming off slowly. The diet this time is a lot less aggressive, and it’s much easier to handle. Of course results are coming much more slowly. So while the impatient side of me wants things to move faster, the practical side of me recognizes this way is a lot less miserable, and sustainable in the long term.

Saturday was a day off, and Sunday was “fun day”… arms calves and weak points (shoulders this year). Threw the weights around, got a pump, went home and snuggled the dog.

Wow! This is possibly the saddest thing I have EVER READ. Not in the sense of the elderly, but in the way you just described them. Because your fancy ass wants pancakes! How dare criticize the very people who carver out your way of life, with blood, sweat and tears.

Ok where to begin, but thank you for the entertainment, and the lovely doggie picture, what’s the name. Just think of it this way, you burned some calories fighting for those mancakes.

That pic lifted my mood up for the day!!

This is rapidly becoming the first log I read each morning.

Sorry @kpsnap… pictures didn’t happen. I suck. Soon. In the meantime, here’s a photo of what happened the last time I wore dress shoes.

JUST THE FACTS MA’AM
It’s a new training block starting today…

overhead lunges - 8x45, 8x65
Front squats - 8x155, 6x175, 4x195, 8x165, 6x185, 4x205
Split squats - 3x8 x 205 lb
A1 Step ups - 3x12 x 65 lb
A2 reverse hypers - 3x12

Step ups and split squat were a little lighter than I probably could have handled, but I was breaking myself in today. back felt TIGHT!

Were these high heels?
And ya didn’t answer my question of what the name of your dog is?
