Help with Form w/ Vids

deadlift vid from yesterday

didnt get alot of my lifts on tape. (reason is on the video)
completely forgot to reset between reps. but i kept my shins close to the bar on all my lifts and i felt like i was pulling back on alot of them too (except the 315).

i was stumbling a bit because i was lifting my toes. i found a post by maraudermeat helping someone else out with their hips rising during dead too and i was trying to do that

" your issue is that you aren’t affectively using the lower body to start the lift. your hips are flying up and then you are stifflegging it up.
…of course your back is going to round when you do that.
so… what do you need to do to fix it?? first, you need to learn to be faster off the floor. start doing some speed work with really light weight. somewhere on the southern end of 50%. you really need to learn to get the hips through A LOT faster. i mean explosive. i’m going to post a vid below this of my speed work. this is how fast i want it to be. see how my hips come to the bar right away, forcefully.

also, when you setup, experiment with your distance away from the bar. your shins shouldn’t touch the bar until you actually get into the down position. once you find that position, i want you to get all your weight back on your heels and actually lift your toes up and keep them up until the bar passes your knees. you will probably fall backwards ( a lot) at first but this will teach you to not immidiately let the weight shift forward. when the weight shifts forward, your ass flys up and you go into that stiff-legged position. if you are pulling with your toes up and your bodyweight all the way back on your heels you will naturally begin in a good position. don’t worry about squatting down, you will already be there if your shins are just touching the bar, toes up and weigt on heels. from there just think about getting the hips to the bar as fast as you can."

i know most of the vid is with really light weights, but do those look better? 315 was bad i know…i felt off that day though, after these i tried 375 and couldnt hit it, then did a couple of sets with 225 and it felt really hard. idk if its cause im sick or if its because i didnt take creatine (cutting a few lbs for the meet) or a bit a both. anyway. thanks

Getting better. Your form won’t change overnight, just keep working at it.

Looks a hell of a lot better. I wouldn’t push your hips so far through at the top though unless your in competition. It could lead to hyperextension of your back and lead to sprains and other issues.

yesterdays squat

i felt like when i tried to sit back more, i couldn’t stay upright at all and was a lot harder to get up/ my hips through. like a good morning (especially on the sets of 225 at the end) am i pushing them back too much or should i just try harder to keep my chest up and work on my glutes and hamstrings more?

still a lot of lumbar flexion
