38yo, use to be super fit and healthy, in the normal weight range. I have been living an absolute nightmare for the past 2 years. Back in 2016 I began having problems with my testicles, and long story shot, one was removed. Remaining one is giving me a lot of trouble as it aches a lot, and to top it off, I have lost all the zest for life. Went to the GP and have been diagnosed with depression, but was reading that low T and depression are closely linked.
I have had private blood tests done, and T levels came back very low, but I am not 100% sure how to fully interpret them:
You are going to be reading alot about testosterone levels most give ng/dl, yours equates to 230 ng/dl that should get you started.
Also read the thyroid sticky
Thank you for your response @korny647. Will read them. Is it also worth going to endocrinologist for a more detailed diagnosis? My main problems are very much in line with low T, I get tired very easily, have next to no motivation or will to live.
I think so, but again I am only a week into amassing all this info on these forums, I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chim in soon, who knows you might even get the great ksman or system lord to help guide ya.
Thank you once again mate, you’re a true gent. Just quickly read your post, and wiill have an in-depth read at home.
I have read some forums stating that testicle tends to shrink on TRT and also that the sperm production will cease. Both don’t bother me at all, but I also heard that the testicle might also ache - I wouldn’t want that. Do you know how common is that?
Make sure they test LH and FSH to see if you are primary or secondary, (primary) the remaining guy isn’t producing enough testosterone, they could tell that by elevated LH and FSH with low t still, if the LH and FSH are low it leans towards (secondary) hypogonadism… something higher up the HPTA is diminished, so they will more than Likely do a cat scan to rule out other things that could be causing the Pituitary to be weakened
I still have a slight dull ache in my one once a while, not bad or anything and it’s very rare, it does seem to go slightly up and down is size sometimes though which is prob what is causing it for me. My theory is that based on my blood test I just got back that showed my elevated LH and FSH, yet my “normal” aka way to low for my age testosterone level, my testical is getting bombarded by LH And FSH to make test and probably does go up sometimes, but then crashes cuz it can’t keep up with my bodies demand then that’s when it deflates and my levels prob drop even lower.
Mate, that’s awesome. Thank you. In in UK, still learning about all this. So my ( very limited ) understanding is, that if I were to take T with hcg, remaining testicle will work as normal?
From what I have been reading yes, though I’m sure it might be slightly Detrimented, the way I look at it is the way mine is working right now and with no Lobito and with testosterone in the tank the chances of me having kids without getting on testosterone are slim to none. So I’m choosing to go through one of those private clinics for now, getting my shipment next week. The link above is for one of those kinda things in the UK found out about it watching that entire playlist I put above that one, it’s a guy in the uk that has a trt YouTube channel.
i have children, not overly fussed about sperm production, but due to other reasons, I would want remaining testicle to continue working as normal for the time being. Ideally, top up on T without negatively impacting current production.
Do you get any pain in the remaining testicle @korny647? I get some discomfort, like a dull ache, not sure if it is to do with testicle working overtime to produce enough testosterone
At 8 nmol/L total testosterone/0.177 nmol/L free testosterone you should be an ideal candidate for testosterone replacement therapy if you did decide to pursue treatment options for your low testosterone symptoms. I work for a company called Defy Medical located in Tampa, FL and we are able to treat patients remotely by phone and through email. You would conduct blood work and schedule a consultation with one of our dedicated medical providers to go over your labs and formulate a treatment plan to optimize your hormone levels and to ultimately help mitigate symptoms. We also offer thyroid restoration therapy if you are looking to check your thyroid more extensively. I think it would be beneficial for you to consult with one of our medical providers to go over your labs and I can further go into detail as to what is required of you for us to be able to treat you telemedically. Our online reviews speak for themselves and if you would like my direct contact info please let me know and I can answer any further questions you may have. Thank you!
