What do you pound with the sledgehammer? At my gym, they have us whack the tires.
Cav I have a big tire for strongman workouts, it is great to smack with the sledge. I have been trying to get in shape for the landscape season. Fat chance. There really is no way to duplicate 12 day of hard labor. I should drop twenty pounds between now and july.

First work out in a while, have just been boxing a couple of guys, and working my tail off(70+ hrs per week).
Did PU,bench,milis,chins dips, box jumps, cleans and RDL and snatch, abd roll outs.
I know all over the place. I kept a good pace tried to do 2 sets each 10-15 reps with 30 seconds between.
dropped a little weight since last post, I can’t help it, I eating like a pig and still dropping.
Cleaned up diet a little and dropping more weight, working , working, working. Did some light lifting over the last week, core is getting stronger and everything else is getting weaker. Today front squats, hanging leg lifts, RDL and running/stairs with 40lb pack.
Is the stone lifting helping with your lifts or no difference?
Back from another season of landscaping, finished the year about a month ago and had not worked out in some time. Decided to just continue with the old log. Goals have changed for this year, have decided to go back to crossfit workouts. just getting to slow with the bulk of powerlifting to fight with much speed besides the #1 son is getting fast and I have to continue training him. So goals are loose 40 pounds , get down to 210-215, will need roadwork for a couple of events over the next year, so running is in, with pack 40-65# is going to be a part of it. Everyone its good to see your logs, you have been working and I have not. Will be good to catch up.

Hey Cav, worked about three months straight 96 hour weeks, slowed down in the fall to 70-80 hr weeks and now down to a good 60-70 hour work week and have all kinds of time on my hands. I went through about 95 tons of stone this summer all laid by hand, was a PB. How’s work going, are you still teaching. Any injuries, I have caught up some (seems like I am seeing a lot of injuries).

Still teaching, although as adjunct I get fired each semester & rehired . . . looking for work to supplement puny income . . . interviewed at another school, I might qualify, but would have to drive over 20 miles 4 times a week & work around current schedule . . . but they want to keep looking to find someone, anyone, more qualified . . . now have a month off without pay, have applied for unemployment . . .
Stopped training at Ludus Magnus. One full year of being driven to breaking point and still not any stronger, although conditioning is better. Sorry, but getting really, really irritated at world class lifters not having a goddamn clue how to build strength. Now at regular gym, injuries healed (you wouldn’t believe the sprains I kept getting at LM), doing Bill Starr 5x5. Weights modest but challenging, seem to be toughening up a little. Still have a long ways to go before I get any decent strength.
