Good morning guys. Hoping some of you experts can help weigh in on my results after 4.5 weeks on TRT. I’m taking 120m/g per week split 3x per week. I’m 45 years old, 230lbs and likely have about 28-30% body fat.
I feel pretty good with T at 634, but not amazing. Can’t really complain after crashing on Clomid when Endo tried to get me off TRT. He said E2 was a bit high, but I don’t feel any soreness in my chest. Also SHBG looks a bit low. In any case, any watch outs here?
Separately, new doc wants me to use Clomid because I had a sides with HCG. Will layer that in soon.
Clomid in conjunction with TRT will likely show no pituitary response at all, so I don’t understand what your doctor is trying to achieve.
If fertility is a concern, you can always add the HCG later on and possibly FSH if HCG alone isn’t enough to get you fertile.
If you thought the sides were bad on HCG and you’re about to go on clomid, oh boy you haven’t seen nothing yet.
Clomid side effect profile is pretty poor and most guys feel horrible on it and some even suicidal!
You’re also blocking the affects of estrogen in the brain since clomid binds to the estrogen receptors.
Good luck in the libido department.

There is no substitute for HCG, sorry.
Are you already on HCG? If you are, I would suggest dropping it unless fertility is needed. HCG tends to raise e2 levels. If you aren’t having any sides related to high estrogen, then you are fine - but you should have an AI on hand in case you start developing any of the symptoms.
So literally a week into TRT, I got a semen analysis done and froze my sperm. According to the sperm bank, although my sample is less than ideal, fairly high success rate if I go IVF route. That said, not likely to have kids.
I took one dose of HCG was having shortness of breathe (350IU). Doc wanted me on it 3x per week and he seemed visibly frustrated because he didn’t want me on Clomid. He said maybe try HCG again, but lower dose. Maybe I’ll do that once I feel like my TRT is dialed in - pretty close I think. I may up my dose to 140mg to see how that feels, but not likely higher.
I do have AI, but have not needed it yet.
Yeah I was on Clomid for 5 weeks without TRT I was crashing, could barely get up out of bed. Think I’ll wait a bit and then try again with HCG. Or considering skipping HCG until I need to and to your point looking at FSH.
If you’re not trying to have kids, HCG doesn’t serve much of a purpose and could make you feel worse due to high E. If you want to have kids later, you could always go back on HCG if/when that time comes.
Just my .02

Yeah, I’m 95% leaning towards to sticking with just TRT. Based on your feedback and Systemlord mentioning FSH shots, I’m sure I I can get my body to start kicking again if, necessary. In the meantime, just need to use this newfound TRT energy to cut weight and get my bloodwork back in healthy ranges.
