Help me find my chest

Charles Poliquin said that since the pecs are internal rotators of the humerus that turning the palms towards each other doing flys was absolutely useless. He suggested driving the thumbs towards each other instead. Any thoughts on this?

Hmm…Since when is working a muscle through it’s full natural range of motion not a good idea? I’ve heard that 90 degree crap from the “trainers” at 24 Hour Fitness too. Your pecs just about are out of the picture using that method. They claim “you’ll avoid injury” that way, you’ll also avoid growth.
To get your tris and shoulders out of the picture more try a narrower grip, shoulder width or so. Go clear down to touch your chest with the bar. Do it with just the bar to see how much more your elbows drop (stretching the pecs) and then how much higher the bar goes (notice a better contraction in the pecs). 5x5 is a good way to go, if you have the energy 2x5 for inclines afterward is good as well.
