I have normalish length arms and it already takes my groove a little lower than I prefer, I can only imagine how much worse it is for you.
On a totally unrelated note today was my first time around with the giant cambered bar. I stuck to paused singles with 315 because I didn’t want to kill myself. That is one unstable motherfucker.
Jesus. That thing is awful. It’s like the bar was designed to reject people lifting weights with it. I once did 30 sets of 2 with 400lbs on mine. It felt like my spine was ground into a powder and it almost ripped my head off.
Still sick as shit. Almost decided not to train today but I completely skipped thursday and yesterday.
Rolled Stuff
Hip Ext. Rotation Stretch
Hip Opener Progression<~~~ something I have been messing around with for a while. I think I got it down pretty good. I am going to video it soon and make a blog post about it. Squatting felt smooth as butter today for the first time in a while and I think it was because of this progression.
Pause Squats- 45x6
135x6
225x6
315x6
405x6
500x6<~~~ PR. Even though I am sick and my back is still all jacked up, I still did this. There is something seriously wrong with me.
Bradford Presses- 45x6
95x6
115x6
135x6
155x6
175x6<~~~ could have done more but I was trying to keep the form as strict as possible. Anymore weight and I would have started cheating.
Fallouts-3x10<~~~ 10 count pause on the last rep of every set. At 288lbs, these felt like I was being ripped in half.
Did some shoulder int. rotation mibility stuff and did some more hip opener stuff for about 10 minutes.
almost everyone in Maryland is “down with the sickness” I had to leave the gym today before passing out and/or shitting myself. I mean that could have just been my pre-workout chipotle and assault…

With that pre-workout, your gains are infinite.
I was just reading about how we have like 6 different strains of the flu flying around. One of them is “severe respiratory distress.” I think I’ve got that one. It’s funny that all those assholes that got flu shots are all sick right now too because the vaccine only covers 2 strains of the flu.

I should be able to get the whole thing recorded and edited on Monday. Seriously, squatting has never felt so natural and my usual slight buttwink was totally non-existant even though I was burying the squats. I havent been able to go heavy on squats caus of some back stuff going on and even that didn’t bother me.

Do you know some good scientific sources for creatine? I just kind of want to geek out on the subject and don’t know the best places to look.
Pubmed.com and google scholar. Also, join the International Society of Sports Nutritionists. They have a couple position statements out that are a total review of all the creatine literature out there. The website for thier journal is jissn.com

You’re shoulder stuff you’ve posted on a blog helped me a bit so I’ll have to give this hip stuff a go as well.
Good to hear, man. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that was helpful. That was actually an elitefts article I wrote. I’m working on one for deadlifts that I will hopefully have done this week.
