Heavy Metal Thread (and Associated Genres)

Guns n roses are actually categorised as heavy metal depending on the song/album at hand

You should check out the releases by Slash/Myles Kennedy

Also, altar bridge and tremonti are pretty sick

DEP is pretty sick. One of my buddies was really into them in high school, I never became obsessed but I’d jam them periodically. Architects are good too, they’re still making tunes right? Thought I heard a new song they released a few months ago…

I used to listen to horse the band and the locust and stuff too, I tried again recently and it’s just way too far beyond me anymore.

Been going back through the chariots catalog, and I’ll mention misery signals again. I’m pretty sure they’ll continue being my favorite metal band of all time.

I’m not super deep into alter bridge but what I’ve heard is fantastic stuff … I always stick up for Creed bc of the bands talent … Stapp was just a big ole douche but Kennedy is a fantastic vocalist

To paraphrase Jarvis Cocker of Pulp - I don’t care, it’s a good song.

I think I prefer the original abba

By far, the most badass metal ballad of all time. This is what showed me that Phil Anselmo is world class in the vocals department.

How is it, exactly, someone manages to be wild enough to get kicked out of Metallica when they were young and starting out? I mean, what did he get up to?

I believe it had more to do with him being violent while doing his drugs.

I’ll be posting a song every day. I listen to a lot of music, the song that really ā€˜pops’ during any given day will go on here.
