What kind of black metal⦠not the NSBM type right?
Nooo Symphonic BM Iām not a nazi lol there are just a few bands with questionable ideas which are too good to not listen to
Just subtly making sure. I try not to judge individualstically harboured political ideologies/world views. But when views are blatantly hateful without adequate reason/incite harm or are without scientifically backed merit I have trouble restraining myself.
Nazism covers this, I canāt for the life of me understand the rationale behind āracial superiorityā⦠or why someone would want to be associated with one of the most evil, barbaric regimes in modern history. I also have trouble with not poking fun at certain viewpoints of which are clearly blatant over-reactions to perceived change and/or are steeped in hysteria.
Check out the following if you donāt already know them
Meh pretty sure they arenāt all 100% nazis, I hope so at least lol. Usually european people fed up with immigrants doing shit, or actual soldiers.
But heh, at a Satyricon concert I saw a black guy with a M8l8th shirt so one can wonder ahahah
I only know the upper half of these. The secret sounds really dark
Theyāre fairly macabre (the secret). Youāve stated you evolved away from the humanely listenable, so Iāve decided to recommend some darker/potentially more extreme material
I forgot⦠one more
And another one
100% agree. Especially Brave New World, one of my top 5 albums of all time. I caught them on the Matter of Life and Death Tour as well, and wasnāt disappointed, despite them playing the entire album front to back before they played any old stuff.
You donāt hear enough about BLS, but Iām a fan. I listened to 1918 eternal on repeat when I first got it.
Would have loved to been to one of those concerts - That is a hughely underrated album, easily the best from the modern era. The sound is just massive.
Did you get a chance to go to one of the Legacy of the Beast concerts?
I did and I thought they were better on that tour than they were in '08 on the Somewhere Back in Time tour. They actually played at least one song off of each album which was really cool. Bruce is absolutely inhuman and has more energy than most people half his age.
As a side note, I literally ran into Nicko McBrain at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Didnāt realize who he was until after we both apologized and he walked awayā¦talk about blowing your chance to chat with a hero.
Me too, was a great evening, really a great set list and even greater show. Should have seen the festival version this summer, but you-know-what put a stop to that.
Heh, too bad, bet he would have been a up for a brief chat, comes a across as a nice bloke.
Oh yeah. We chuckled and apologized and he wished me a good day. Not every famous person would be that cool about being run into.
I donāt think I could pick only one song off every album.
It was a great show, although Iād rate Brave New World over a Matter of Life and Death anyday.
Bruce Dickinson is just an absolute legend. Just made of totally different stuff than the rest of us. Inspiring guy, but if you were going to have a beer with any of Maiden, you know youād have the best laugh with Nikko or smiling Dave
Iām more into Rudessās solo work. I liked the Dream Theatre albums, but the singing portion became redundant and just irritated me except for a couple of songs. I think their previous keyboardist wasnāt a āvirtuousoā so the songs were more traditionally structured with the vocal melodies written before everything else. It seemed the opposite on their later albumbs.
Man, I gave up after Fear of the Dark.
Agreed. I think Iām one of the only idiots in the world who read Bruce Dickensonās book The Adventures of Lord Iffy Boatrace. Some dude with a 12 inch prick gets it stuck in wet concrete and dies overnight from exposure. And thatās just one of the supporting characters. Good shit.
Yeah, I remember being a massive fan of Led Zep and loved Deep Purple but when I heard Rainbow I was like, who is the fucking amazing singer lol? Heās better than Coverdale(never liked Gillian. Flame on.) and has much better vocal technique than Robert Plant. Then I started listening to Dio. Then I realized that was the reason why people here called him āThe Man with the Golden Voiceā. Blackmoreās riffs were amazing too.
Speaking of Blackmore, I got his Blackmoreās Night album and it wasnāt bad.
Definitely a fan of LoG. Theyāre probably my favorite purely metal band right now. I like growling vocals and riff heavy guitarwork over shredding - and that has absolutely nothing to do with my inability to shred on the guitar after more than a decade of trying ⦠![]()
My number one right now is Deftones - which is a little nu metal, with some other stuff thrown in. Thatās all I listen to when lifting. For plodding out 40-50 minutes of cardio, on the other hand, Toolās latest album is working like a charm.
Fav lamb of god album? I really like ashes of the wake
Haha! I love that! This is exactly what Iāve been doing with it since itās release. Get on the bike, que it up, and just go. It puts me into a wierd head space- aggressive but maintainable for an extended period.
If you have YouTube music. You can select your music tastes based upon favourite musicians and a playlist will be created based upon selected choices consisting of favourite bands + music considered similar by algorithm. This way one can discover new bands
Unsure if Spotify is the same
This is what I do for cardio
