Heart Palpitations with Test C Use

I’m 43 and put back on TRT. Testosterone Cyp 200MG/ML. Doc has me injecting .75 ML intramuscular once weekly. Last time I was on it, I was injecting roughly .30ML 2x weekly. Started getting heart palpitations and got so tired of em that I stopped TRT. Palpitations went away. After about 6 months, my libido was in the dumpster, erections were almost unobtainable, had little sexual desire. Went back to doc and back on TRT…same doseage. Monday I took .25ML and felt fine. Today the heart palpitations started. What do I need to do to get rid of these annoying things because they prevent me from relaxing and sleeping. I have a hystory of SVT and night time bradycardia. Please help. Thank you.

I’m confused, are you on 150mg (.75 x 200 = 150) 1x per week or 50mg (.25 x 200 = 50) 1x per week?

Do you have before/after blood tests?

The bottle says “Testosterone CYP 200MG/ML QTY 10.”
Doseage prescribed is “Inject .75 ML Intramuscular once weekly.”
Instead of taking .75ML, I injected .25ML and was going to inject .25ML again at the end of the week because I wasn’t sure if the palpitations last time were caused by too much test(.5ML injections twice weekly). I obviously have little experience/knowledge of this stuff.
Before taking, HGB was 14.7, HCT 42, total test 338, Estradiol 25. This bloodwork is from Jan 25. Took injection Feb 7.

Some guys can’t handle even moderate doses of cypionate, maybe smaller doses will eliminate the palpitations. It might be that your dosage is too high, not everyone should shoot for high normal levels, some do best near midrange.

Where does the 60mg twice weekly put your Total T, Free T, SHBG and estrogen?

When I was on it last time, my total T was 600 range. I’ll have to try to find my lab work from back then(if I didn’t shred it). Come to think of it, I didn’t have any palpitations the last time until after I had my gallbladder removed🤔

When I was first tried on TRT about 10 years ago, I believe I was prescribed enanthate(does that sound right?). I had no issue at all on that and felt great. But the doc only left me on it for two or three months. I’m still seeing the same doc…he’s a urologist.

The Total T is the bound portion of testosterone, your doctor never tested the unbound potion of testosterone?

He may have back then…I honestly don’t recall. I’ll call the office tomorrow and get copies of all of my previous labs. I do know that free test isn’t on my most recent labs.

My doctor doesn’t test Free T directly, he prefers to get my calculated Free T going off my SHBG using the Tru-T calculator.

As you have probably determined, I’m new to a lot of this which is why I joined here and posted. Thank you and everyone else here for answering my questions. My doctor obviously hasn’t/doesn’t explain things to me and I don’t really know what I need to ask/look for. But I want to know and want to learn. I want to make sure I’m being tested for everything that I should be and I want to know how to manage things.

I wanted to tell you when I was iron deficient and on TRT I had palpitations all day long, and it wasn’t until I got my iron dose right that the palpitations vanished.

So if you haven’t had your iron status tested on TRT…

Thanks for the advice…I’ll definitely do that.

I increased my intake of water and gave myself another injection of .30ML on 2/10/22. I was feeling lethargic on 2/9/22. The palpitations seemed to have subsided and I’m starting to get decent erections again. Would it be best for me to inject .3 ML 3x a week to keep from experiencing the ups and downs?

This usually happens after dosing changes, because hormones are unstable in the blood. It would be no different if you increased the dose of Cialis, an ED drug, you wouldn’t reach a steady state until 5x the half-life.

The real test will be are these benefits still present after 4-6 weeks.

If you’re experiencing ups and downs, injecting more frequently can help.
