HCG vs HGH Question

After b/w showed low test, my regular doctor prescribed Androgel. I asked questions regarding E2 and other tests that should be done, but he thought the Androgel was enough and seemed too busy to discuss further. I looked around and found a nurse practitioner through a local compounding pharmacy who specializes in HRT for men and women. It sure was nice to be able to discuss all this with someone who understands.

Anyway, after reviewing previous b/w, when we got to the treatment part we discussed various delivery methods of test and she is fine with any of them. She only mentioned weekly injections and she was leaning toward custom compounding creams, maybe because of who she works for, but especially if we needed to add things like DHEA supplementation in.

We discussed rising E2 and AI control of that. So far - great!

I then asked about loss of testicular function and the use of HCG. She said she never heard of that even after attending a conference last fall. I gave her the TRT protocol and she agreed with almost everything, but said she would research further while we wait for new and proper b/w to come back. She then mentioned using HGH instead because it is a higher? level hormone.

I haven’t seen anything in this forum on using HGH instead of HCG so I did not have a response to her.

In the meantime I sent her Dr. John Crisler’s papers. In those he only mentions HGH under testing IGF-1 if HGH is being considered.

Can someone explain the difference and if one is better or needed than the other?

Thanks for the excellent information and help everyone gives here.

It is illegal to prescribe hGH unless specified tests show certain results. To make matters more interesting, many state medical boards have gotten onto the anti hCG bandwagon and made the criteria more difficult.

Get the 2005 research paper that shows that 250iu hCG SC EOD restores baseline testicular function.

You can inject T and get some supplemental 5% T cream to apply to your scrotum.

Oral DHEA works well, its with the vitamins on the shelf.

Where can I find that research paper?

PM me an e mail address and I will send it to you

I’m surprised she has never heard of HCG. She seems very happy to jump on the HGH bandwagon though and she’s up for prescribing an A.I. which is good.

I would not take dhea without being tested first. Not everyone has low dhea levels. I for one had high levels which explains why when I took it a long time ago I felt like crap.

Fyi, Dr. Crisler does not use hgh anymore, strictly ghrp-6. Way cheaper too. HCG has nothing to do with HGH.

Here is an interview of him discussing ghrp-6 on superhuman radio.

I meant to say she has heard of hCG, she uses it for her weight loss clients. She said she never heard of it being used in conjuction with TRT. She said the lead pharmacist told her the rec and literature it is best used prior to test declining via increasing LH.

We are testing DHEA-S. I mentioned that because she seems much more aware of what to do that my regular doc.

I will listen to his interview. Thanks for the info and all the help you guys give.
