I don’t think any of us operate independently of our experiences when considering societal ills and their potential solutions. I’m hugely influenced by my mother’s abandonment of me, along with my feelings of vulnerability as a SAHM. I exactly fit the ideal profile of the anti-work contingent in this thread when I met my ex-husband - I worked in a gym and sold him a membership - and I have very strong feelings about it as a result.
Bear in mind, @BrickHead, that you have much in common ideologically with the guys who bemoan women marrying and then “taking half your shit” along with alimony if the marriage tanks, e.g. Angry Chicken. This doesn’t happen in a dual income household.
What’s nutty is that you think it’s a truth that women will be “destroyed” by 35 if they work in a stressful environment.
Everyone handles stress differently. It’s not gender specific it’s individual and I assume you don’t have kids because they’re stressful as fuck.

I’m willing to discuss this, you do share some views with greenboy, but I think you’ve cherry picked his posts for stuff you agree with, because if you read his posts describing working women as fat pigs or looking like they got steamrolled, you’d know he wasn’t “just saying” anything. You did show up several hundred posts in, but it would take a contortionist’s mental gymnastics to filter out the hatred from his initial (and most telling) posts. Everything since then has been reexplained, twisted, or lied about. You have been polite, and have owned your opinions from the start - opinions which I fundamentally and morally disagree with, but that’s besides the point. I’m interested on your views about adultery and the like. Do you believe not doing something out of fear of punishment is the same as not doing it because you are morally sound? This is quite a Christian way of looking at things.

This can not be understated. I went from hammer swinging/fitting heavy fabrication to Mr. Mom, and it’s a whole other set of skills. I’m perfectly comfy with production deadlines and 100+ ton tandem crane lifts, or welding on nuclear power equipment, but leave me in charge of a 4 year old and I get pretty antsy.
There is a fuck ton of social pressure and judgment to be the perfect parent (moms especially) these days.

Oh yeah you’re totally correct. I was harsh towards “fat fucks” but I’m harsh towards people like that in general. Not the ones not blessed with good genes, but the ones that think it’s cool to eat like pigs and scream “Merica” at the bar (these are the men).
And then on the women side it’s the ones like my friend that think a guy should like her despite her being completely overweight and not taking care of herself, physically. It is the same way you all lambast “incels” or the unemployed men that can’t make it. To you those people are pathetic ‘lessers’ and aren’t shy calling anyone out for that, including me, which you don’t even know anything about.

Why do you think that is nutty? Yes different people react differently to stress, but like I’ve said 100x the ones that react worse to it in my experience are women. There are some rock solid women out there, highly accomplished women, but most of them that I have come across have been super stressed individuals and it takes a serious toll on their bodies.
The issue we are discussing in this particular matter is PHYSICAL APPEARANCE. Yes, it is a bit vain, no doubt, but attraction is vain a lot of times.
Is it not fact that younger women are more attractive to men than older women? Are we going to dispute this? Is it not fact that stress can have an effect on both women AND men? Therefore, why is it nutty for me to say that stressful environments for women, in a physical sense, is NOT good?

I gave my reasons why some peoples descriptions of their own accomplishments may not indicate much. And as I stated, I was talking in a broad sense from experiences and observations I have made across online, and in multiple IRL scenarios in various countries. There will be wide variances within individuals, but populations at a whole will show some prevailing patterns. There is a reason silly novels/movies like fifty shades of grey is hugely popular. There is a reason why porn is insanely popular amongst young boys. I think we can start to parse these things and get to the core.
I’m going to come out and say that I think in the U.S as of right now there are far less quality females than males. That’s my stance. Do I mean there are less accomplished and working intelligent females than other places in the world? No absolutely not. There’s just less quality females that MOST men would want.

I don’t think there’s really anything new about hormone imbalance in teens and being able to take advantage of it with the concepts of love and sexuality.
Ironic though, that these 2 examples it’s love for women, and typically hypersexuality for the boys. I would argue of the 2, it’s the men that need to reflect on how their practices impact them. Women wanting to love their man is a tale way older than the 2 of us combined.
Counterpoint. Women have advanced much more than men in recent years, changing the dynamic. The men whom are now low quality have told themselves they deserve better, when they clearly do not.
Also, data nerds like me eventually get out of that weird HS phase and marry up. All of your bebs are belonging to us.

Quick personal story - coming out of college during the economic crisis good jobs were scarce, and I couldn’t find anything good for a few months.
A night out I ran into a ‘friend’ of mine from college, and her really cute friend that just got hired to a great law firm (she didn’t seem smart but she sure was cute). I asked her to introduce me after I saw the friend looking at me, and after long conversation I could feel the girl liked me.
As I was paying for a drink for the both of us I hear the girl I knew say “he doesn’t have a job yet” and they both looked at each other. This bitch knew the economy was bad, she was in economics for christ sakes, and still pulled that crap. The night went sour, needless to say.
Fast forward 5 years later I run into the same 2. Both in the same job, both in the same position, and here I am making more. Doing better. They know this, clearly, by the company I was with.
The same girl comes over and says “hey my friend remembers you she wants to know if you’re single, and also do me a favor introduce me to one of your friends hahahahaha”
I looked at this girl and said “yeehhhhh we only date girls about 5 years or more younger than us”
This fucking girl was APPALLLEEDDDD. The look on her face was amazing lol. But yeah it was totally cool for her to pull what she did before, right? Because of the “lesser man” nonsense. That’s the fucking double standard at work.
And please do me a favor stop the self-congratulatory bullshit bro. I’ve been in high level finance for a while, I work with maniacs. The biggest pigs of pigs, the amount of girls that have dropped their pants while being married to “data nerds” is staggering, it is SCARY. That’s why I’m partially jaded. I almost feel bad half the time, but other times when I know they’re married to those overconfident nerd types, it makes it all so much easier.

Women finally think they deserve equality. While I agree they think they deserve better than they used to, I definitely wouldn’t agree it’s more than men.
