Wow, are you ever reading the room wrong! This place is full of people who believe in personal autonomy, that if you’re not happy with who or what you are, change it! The idea of men being victims doesn’t carry very well here. As far as virtue-signalling SJW’s, I guarantee you’re looking at one of the most libertarian demographics in a non-political website that there is on the internet. I’m about as close to a SJW as you’ll fine around here, and I’m pretty far from it.
Also, at this point, nobody is responding to you with any hope of convincing you of anything. You’re the entertainment.
You claim women are being given all the power (by who I have no idea). Women do not hold positions of power in this country nearly as much as men do. Women don’t magically hold more power in the middle either.
This.
Well, we can’t all be winners!
Agreed. I grew up in several parts of Maryland and have lived in SC for a few years as well.
I absolutely agree that it’s not geographic, and I can see in my post how it might have seemed that I was saying that. I think, in this particular case, that his socioeconomic status is playing a much larger role (though I have found that certain regions tend to be more self-isolated).
I really don’t want to turn this into a class thing, and I’ve known many people raised in privilege who do not or who no longer subscribe to the line of thinking modeled in this thread, but when I read this person’s posts, I get the definite sense that he comes from (and continues to circulate within) a very insular, overindulged social circle that apply superficial values to everything they touch, not just the dating scene.
Maybe I’m way off the mark here, but a red flag (knowing what we already know about him, of course, as this, alone, wouldn’t be enough for me to make such an assessment) is when he identified his upbringing as upper-middle class. In my experience, outside of those small groups at the very extreme ends of the socioeconomic spectrum, people tend to “play down” their background, classifying it as a step or two down from where it really was, owing to our culture’s odd system of assigning extra value to backgrounds at the lower end. For him to openly identify his as being at the upper end stands out to me as fitting in cleanly with what we’re reading here.
Virtue signalling? I stated my wife won’t leave the kitchen and I’ve spent the past few weeks ranting about that steaming pile of shit of a movie that was Captain Marvel.
I’m already Hitler. What’s virtue signalling going to do? Upgrade me to Mussolini?
This is further proof you see what you want to see … people disagree with you based on your failure to actually provide any semblance of evidence and you dismiss this criticism as coming from virtue signalling and white-knighthood … you’re a walking poster board for logical fallacies and contradictions
And this just illustrates my point. You have a legitimate inability to engage in any sort of constructive debate. You have your world view and you’ll be damned if it’ll be questioned!!! If anyone is an irrational virtue signalling pc warrior it’s you and you just don’t want to see it…sad
because you haven’t defined any of the terms you’re using … and when anyone interprets it with the commonly accepted understanding you seem to imply that isn’t what you’re talking about . .hence my continued assertion you have no clue what you’re talking about…
If you want a coherent discussion try defining and setting the terms of the discussion rather than imploring any of us to read your confused, disorganized mind. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s clearly not working out the way you think it should…
@Basement_Gainz - Emily and planetcybertron should be offended … how dare you sir, how absolutely dare you
@dchris - Sitting in a dugout playing grab ass is not playing baseball
@anon50325502 - It’s becoming abundantly clear to me at this point that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, talks in vague generalities without defining terms with the strategy that he can claim misinterpretation on our parts later when we make him look like the fool he so clearly is
@leon79 - I would argue, given that he’s claimed to be on the wrong side of 30, that it’s not his socioeconomic status but his inability to think outside himself and the bubble he’s created. But the socioeconomic status portion plays a role in this cognitive retardation
It’s not … right now we’re talking about this specific individual and possibly the small microcosm he’s trapped himself in
@dt79 - SPOILERS!!! Thanks for ruining the ending ass
That wouldn’t surprise me, but my guess is he’s just ignorant. He reminds me of that one dude (Mr Walkaway or something like that) that claimed he was falsely accused of rape and it turned out he made the whole thing up. A lot of this dude’s posts sound just like his.
I own a metal fabrication company. We manufacture dust collectors that are used in the surface mining/ blast hole drilling industry. I’m not saying I make CRAZY money, but it’s between 150k and 200k most years. The market is pretty good right now. I’ve made over 100k per year since I was about 25 I believe.
But I honestly don’t spend much time in the gym compared to a lot of folks on here. Generally I get there 3 times a week, sometimes 4. I would say I spend an average of 5-6 hours a week at the gym. And my gym membership is less than 30 dollars a month, not a big expense.
That wording is atrocious … when you’re forcing someone to do something … you’re not letting them do shit … you’re making them do it. If they were to remove some regulation that was preventing said action, then you can use the word “let” … fuck English is dead
Of course my views are going to be somewhat shaped by my surroundings but I have explicitly pointed out multiple times that I have traveled and lived in foreign countries a significant amount of time. I have noticed people change, as they move from one area to the next, but even then I still believe most people will fall into the same range. Me bringing this up wasn’t an admittance of ignorance, it was looking at the possibility that most of you do not see what I am talking about.
In this very discussion we’ve had some guys laugh at the notion someone doing a ‘mail order bride’ and when the woman bounces after receiving their papers it is the mans fault, it’s laughed at. As stupid as it is for a man to do it, the woman is somewhat completely relieved of her own bad act, as if it’s ok for her to do that and the man should have been a better catch or something?
This entire place shows exactly what I have always been saying - in the current landscape of things men should still be men while women are getting a free pass.
Oh come on. This is like when Christopher Hitchens wrote that great article saying women aren’t funny because they don’t have to be funny.
Actually, they might. They tend to look at things from a third view. They’ve deliberately attempted to understand both sides, like I try and do actually, and like most of you just shit on.
I"ve repeated multiple times this isn’t about me, it is what I see and people here still angrily throw insults.
Yes, and no. I never really grew up upper middle class, but my friends were. And like I said it plays a part. I am totally willing to concede that.
But what exactly does that say? Like I said before, if a man goes out of his way to find a more ‘traditional’ woman in some outskirts of the midwest, or another country, and then that woman gets a taste of the ‘good life’ and bounces on him, it is again the man’s fault as we have seen in this thread. It is an interesting conundrum is it not? And does it not validate what I have been saying?
My guy all that has been going on here is anecdotal evidence being countered with further personal testimonials.
Only that the mobs version of it is championed, as per usual in any instance such as this.
Very few people in here posted something even remotely resembling an actual conversation.
Yes, I’m rich in generalities and thin on specifics, such is one that believes in poetic justice. ; )
You cannot be comparing yourself to the average American male. You’re making far and above what most combined house hold income is in this country as a single man… single white man in shape no less, IN FUCKING TEXAS. lol
Like, come on. If you had any trouble at all getting women I’d say you have some type of deep psychological problem. You’re qualified to make your own observations but not to hold yourself up as some type of example.
Dude, you’ve literally been calling women fat disgusting pigs, while crying that you’re being personally insulted. You have no intellectual or conversational leg to stand on.
perhaps part of the disconnect here is that you dissociate yourself from ‘what you see’. What you see IS about you. You can’t just separate yourself from your perception of the world. Your preconceived notions color your viewpoint. You seem to think you’re neutral and objective. You’re not.
