The “gig” economy is a tiny portion of the job market in the US. It’s not the hill I’d die on. Automation and AI are where the real disruption lies.
It sucks for ‘nice guys’ that being able support yourself and being a ‘nice guy’ no longer wins you a prize, but is the bare minimum ante to get you into the game…
As far as I can tell, plenty of guys that do just that still win a “prize”.
Of course, plenty of guys just swipe right (or left?), go get their dick wet, and then go back to playing video games. Thems the times…
Why then would you be surprised that they endeavor to provide that for themselves? Yes, women value security, for themselves and their children, and smart women work to ensure it.
Also, by the by, the demographic with the highest number of successful suicides is men over 50. Interesting bit of info in light of the conversation. Did they value looks over substance and at 50 wonder why they chose so poorly? Have they lost their jobs (research says yes, this is the greatest cause) and have no one else working to support the household? INTERESTING.
