@greenboy can we see you deadlift? You know, just for technique evaluation purposes.
The crossfit equivalent of 3 reds.
And its more a comment on how, even if I do a 20x405 squat, it wouldn’t be considered as such. I will still do it.
Pwn, I’ve seen you hit depth. You hit parallel. That’s what ultimately matters…have you ever noticed that there aren’t many strong ATG squatters excluding Chinese Olympic Weightlifters? And thank you. ![]()
I don’t even think that matters, haha. Depth is for powerlifters.
I’d agree with you to an extent. If you’re just at parallel, though, I’d argue that you’re still reaping the full benefits of squatting as opposed to sinking your squats to IPF depth.
This one of those things I have written about before, but it is an interesting language game. If we cut squats short, we don’t reap the full benefits. But if I do partials, I reap the full benefit of the partial squat.
I find, as long as the training is intentional, it is effective.
Exactly. But, hey, even I could do a 405 x 20 quarter squat. Which means you could do the same thing with like 700, haha.
Another request: heaviest yoke pickup possible for reps. ![]()
Was that post reconstruction? That takes a special kind of strength to go back to heavy yoke lifts after “the accident”
Yup. 125lbs more than what did me in. Was good to get that in.
@T3hPwnisher
What is the point of a yoke lift? Enlighten me.
my form is fine. not like that one infamous dude here that was posted about the other day. I couldn’t believe that was real, might be one of the best videos ever though. I don’t like to deadlift much anymore because it is so taxing, and I’m not really sure of the muscle building potential. I question it.
I actually JUST took a picture, the gym made me feel confident today after the most unbelievable girl in that place cracked a smile at me. Not sure if it was a nervous smile because I can’t help but look at her or maybe she’s noticing my new gainz. Hmm… dunno, but I’ll take it as a victory for now.
I’ll use it as before the mad 3 month diet I’m about to embark on picture. Debating If I’ll post it or not, We’ll see.
too much coffee can also bloat you. cycling on/off coffee is a smart thing to do.
at least it will smooth out your wrinkles ![]()
It’s an event in strongman.
Just post it, dude. I think we’re past the calling out phase, and I’m just curious at this point.
Artist rendition

But hey, while we’re on the topic of hernia causing deadlifts, allow me to share a PR from my day today
And I just gotta say that @greenboy you live one of the most fascinating existences I’ve heard of. I’ve competed in 12 strongman competitions. Before that, 3 powerlifting meets. I’ve trained in various gyms, seen hundreds of trainees performing max effort deadlifts, and have literally NEVER seen someone have to get carried out on a stretcher from a bad deadlift. Not only have YOU seen one, but you saw it just the other day, AS we’re all having a discussion on the topic of PRs. The timing is incredible!
And when I brought up that I have a low resting heart rate and partake in caffeine, you knew a guy that needed a pacemaker for such a situation.
And when @mr.v3lv3t knew that his face wasn’t swollen from drinking, you knew a guy who felt the same until he saw photos of himself.
And as you’re talking women holding out for men in their mid 30s, the woman you meet on the treadmill next to you THAT DAY is exactly this type of woman.
And while no one else here has experienced this non-PED using moonface from drinking, you know SEVERAL people like this.
Like, seriously: you should write a book.
Out of morbid curiosity- have you seen any exercises result in this?
I’ve seen an atlas stone crush a leg a time or two. The ONE time I saw an ambulance called, a guy dropped the farmer’s handles onto his feet and then tripped, fell forward and ate it. Think he may have separated his ankle.
Even when I blew out my ACL, I just iced it, drove back to the hotel, took my kid to the aquarium the next day, and then saw my doc on Monday.
Artist rendition lol I like that. Should change my handle to Water Man
I play fast and loose with time frames. I’ll say that.
Yes, I have been told to write a book. I have fun adventures =)
None of what I say is b.s though, just so you know. The dude really did fuck himself up, he tagged it on his insta. Doctor apparently told him he either had to get surgery or never lift again. Now, did he reallllllyyyy need to go on a stretcher? Nah, probably not but I think the gym made him and his friends were encouraging him to stay down.
Yes, I did know someone that drank so much coffee it was abnormal and then found out it was a heart condition they were born with that allowed them to drink that much coffee and feel at baseline. That person did end up with a pacemaker at the tender age of 37.
You love the moonface debate don’t you. I’ve experienced water retention and moon face from drinking, and also from eating a lot of salt. My dad was salt sensitive, so much so he consumed his salt to an early grave. I’m also very sensitive to salt, and it shows in my face. I think it was @SkyzykS that said it could be an underlaying condition, and I probably should actually get screened for any issues.
The fact that non of you experience any type of bloat face from drinking is a testament to the forum we are on, nothing else. I’m sure none of you actually DRINK. Now, Is it purely to do with alcohol? I dunno, could be the shit food people consume a lot of times while drunk, I’m not totally against that being part of it. However, being dehydrated a lot can cause your body to retain water, this is a known fucking fact I’m not sure why people argue this. It’s not either/or there are levels of drinking beer that can make you loose water weight, just like coffee, and levels that will make you retain water.
I play fast and loose with time frames. I’ll say that.
It’s not just timeframes ![]()
EDIT: I like the new avatar though.
You talk about the toxic personality you USED to have, and then you repeatedly cozy up to this guy because he shares some of your viewpoints on women. Is it possible that you never changed your attitude, and only changed the manner in which you express yourself?
None of what I say is b.s though, just so you know.
To quote our president, “believe me”.
