Let’s not even talk about illegal or semi-legal things.
Again, for simplicity’s sake:
Let’s take someone who runs a small coffee shop business. He does not have much business experience, nor does he have any partners or associates who do. I give him access to any politician who is willing to bend any regulation in the world for his benefit RIGHT NOW. For FREE. No strings attached. What use would that be to him?
Correct. Although there are groups of people, some residing in the US, whose members might not be billionaires, but have used their collective power and in-group preference to monopolize industries. This is much more efficient in meeting financial goals and creating some ultra-wealthy people out of such a base of team work versus being a bunch of atomized “hard workers” attending McJobs.
Not particularly. I would say if anything I’m more naturally ‘built’ for bodybuilding because my joints are on the smaller end of the spectrum.
As for tendons… I suppose this is relevant, lol. I tore my left pec this weekend. Bummer. I’ll be talking more about it in my log if you feel like following along
This is an interesting thing. Because I agree with you about 90%, and that’s how I’ve been on this site. I’ve always wanted to be very candid about what I do, and I don’t deny the gear use anywhere. But that’s also recently put me in a compromised position. It’s not something I can really post about here, but generally speaking, some of my previous posting is coming back to haunt me right now. Not a law enforcement issue, something else. So right now, I’m experiencing the consequences of talking openly about taking illegal substances. It’s making me appreciate why some people lie about this stuff.
Yes, this happens everywhere. But it didn’t start out with a bunch of people of average abilities and mindsets getting lucky, although one can argue that the barriers to entry into these specific industries are a lot higher as a result of this. The latter would take pages of words just to unpack. You need to get to a certain level first before you can engage in this shit lol. The average worker isn’t going to be able to because he’s average.
I deal with a couple of ultra wealthy clients from big companies in China. There are lots of people there with “new wealth” because of the speed of economic development there after the Open Door Policy. A lot of the older ones did not even have formal educations and some are from the villages which I can tell from their accents. They are mostly self-made.
When I deal with my local or clients from companies from places like Australia, I have to use formal business jargon since most of them will have MBAs or similar credentials. When I deal with the older, self-made ones from China, they do not use formal business terms, but when you speak to them, they have the same amount of knowledge in business as my clients with formal credentials, just expressed differently. If you speak to them casually and pick at their brains, they can easily make you feel stupid while sounding like a typical farmer from the village.
Yes, definitely. You’re talking to someone who has been doing business with China since the mid 2000s lol. The levels of corruption, and how openly it’s done there are mindboggling.
However, the unpleasantness would also include how incapable the average person would be when it comes to getting that wealthy even if all this corruption didn’t exist, or worked in their favor. A lot of people think they can make it when provided opportunities and resources like these. I doubt it.
I’m glad Mother Nature made it that way, for an allocation of labor. Hence I’m not an IQ worshipper, nor do I have unconditional respect for rich people a la American lemmings.
This is why I don’t post my face, or too much detail about myself despite being trolled to do so.
I also don’t think you need to be open about anything, ever. You don’t need to answer to anyone if you take or don’t take, and I hate when I see younger guys approach someone older at the gym, that you can assume probably used, and they ask them straight up “so what have you taken”
That is rude as fuck. But all these youtube/instagram celebrities throwing out their “this is what you have to do to get a body like mine” without mentioning the gear part, that really pisses me off. These people are making hundreds of thousands, some maybe even millions with a false message.
Disagree. Many people DO return the carts without anyone having to be present to witness the good behavior. I believe that many people with the ability/means to do otherwise will abide the laws with which they agree. An example would be that more people will obey a reasonable speed limit than one that seems arbitrary or designed to rake in speeding fines.
Agree that many will, but ALSO observe that many won’t.
And also agree that people will follow laws they agree with…but that’s the thing. They make themselves the arbiters of law, vs complying due to an agreed upon social contract wherein we abide by all laws to enjoy all protections afforded by our compliance.
I don’t need someone texting and driving next to me because they disagree with that law. I want the protection that law affords me.
This is one of the worst aspects of Americans, the worshipping of the rich no matter how they got there. Fuck, look at how many people want to be Kardashians, that is the absolute epitome (besides maybe Trump) of how stupid people are worshipping celebrity culture, and the rich in this country.
I do tend to appreciate higher IQ individuals though, at least most aren’t assholes, and I’d say most of them gear towards fields that actually help humanity.
I don’t know what annoys me most adoration of the rich, or the obsessiveness with celebrity.
I’d imagine it’s a function of distance and weather as a couple of the main determinants of the likelihood any random person returns the carts - it’s not so much “I’m a good person ergo I will return the cart - or I’m a bad person ergo I will not return the cart”…Lord knows, as someone who routinely returns my cart along with some stragglers I corral along the way, I’ve left my fair share in no man’s land due to those confounding factors.
This is the case for quite a few of the places in the world I’ve been, not an American trait. When I lived in Malaysia they were more obsessed with Hollywood and Kardasians than anybody I knew stateside. It was actually quite eye opening how much US pop culture and politics are worldwide.
I used to think the French were stuck up for how much they tried to protect their cinema culture. But my god now I understand why.
America needs to stop spreading its crummy toxic ass pop culture worldwide and the rest of the world needs to stop consuming it. I want to see other cultures come up with their own stuff. I don’t want to travel to another country and have to hear people talk with the valley girl cali accent.
