Im planning on just grinding through it.[/quote]
Umm… you didn’t deserve special treatment. The other students have lots of obligations as well. You made a choice to hand in the assignment late, and you didn’t have the consideration to tell her in advance.
Grinding through it is a bad idea. Take the easy route and just talk with her. It’s what she’s looking for.
Could be that she cares but just as likely that she is just hateful.
Side story, but first day of Grade 8, the teacher went through her Welcome to Grade 8 speech and halfway through said “Now if you’re a redhead, don’t expect to get a fair shake in my class because I’ve never met a redhead I liked”.
And, since I fall into that genetically defective category, she spent the rest of the year screwing with my grades, not telling me about things I had qualified to participate in, putting wrong marks on my report card, saying I missed assignments when I had the marked copies and so on. Anyway, it’s just possible that you have one of those teachers…

That sounds like good preparation for life. See, life isn’t far, sometimes people hate you for no reason. You can deal with it or you can go crying to someone in authority, like a little bitch.

my math teacher last year would put in 10-15% lower then what I actually got on quizzes, graded me incorrectly frequently, etc.
So you’re bothered enough to post about it, but don’t plan to actually take any of the good advice you’ve received in this thread?

If she’s only picking on two students, you’re lucky - she actually seems to care about you.
Now’s a good time to learn how to act in the real world.
If you get caught spacing out, go to her later and apologize. Explain you are fasting, but you don’t want any special treatment. If she notices you spacing out, let her know you appreciate getting your attention in a respectful matter.
If you are going to hand in something late, let her know in advance. She is still justified in giving you a penalty. It’s just polite to do - otherwise she may spend time thinking about why you were late, and if she needs to come up with a strategy to help you out. In the real world, a boss would need to figure out a contingency plan.
However, if you feel you are being picked on for something that really doesn’t matter (bling), you need to tell her. You are being picked on for coming to class late though.

Among others, this post was excellent. I suggest you follow the advice. This is a very diplomatic way of making your life a little easier.

On the same vein, I gave my brother one of my papers to use for one of his classes, Grade 11 English I think, and he got an A. So he gives it to a buddy of his who hands it in to the same teacher next semester and he gets a C. She evened out the following year when it was handed in to her yet again by a different student who got a B. Same paper, word for word, same teacher, just a different student. Kinda proved to me that who you are matters as much as what you do…
Ok, regardless of wether or not she “cares about you, is trying to push you” or “how lucky you are” yadda yadda, the fact is, regardless of your behavior (which I personaly think could use some tuning up, its time to stop the “oh I didnt know to copy the notes” type excuses) she is harrassing you by your description.
Teachers are not supposed to punish students like that. Infact punishment by terms of humiliation, singling out, and for fuck sakes GOSSIPING about you to another class behind your back, are considered very bad practices by teachers.
I know i dont behave like the best a student can be, no one does, but the fact that other kids that behave much worst than me get better treatment isnt good. i dont go to a catholic highschool.
