Bench - 4 triples at 185 (plus 5), I scheduled wrong and didn’t have time for more. I’ll be back.

Thursday night:

Close grip 3/2/1 - started at 160 (plus 5) I had the strength for all of them, they were just blasting up in the groove. HOWEVER my brother left right on the last wave and I discovered that I couldnt unrack 190. Fuck.

Skullcrushers - many sets to make up for it. No PR cause I got greedy and tried 95. Got 2 reps, haha.

Stop skipping curls. It’s high priority now, they directly affect elbow health and I can feel the biceps long head while benching too.

Branching out from the norm a bit…

speed DL - 245 plus long chains (about double the short chains)

Faster than 235 was last week!

I’m really tempted right now to DL heavy both days of the week and see what happens…

Something like this generally:

Monday:
O-lifts in the morning
DL
Front squats
Good mornings
Row
pullups, curls

Tuesday:
BTN push jerk in the morning
OHP
CG bench
skullcrushers
dips

Wednesday:
O-lifts in the AM
Squat
Front squat
Good mornings
weighted Pullups, curls

Thursday:
BTN in the AM
Bench
CG bench
skullcrushers
Dips

Friday:
O-lifts AM
Speed DL
Front Squat
Row
Good Mornings
Pullups, curls

Saturday:
same as Tuesday - overhead and triceps

Band pullaparts sprinkled throughout.


Writing that out made me realize I often skip the curls and pullups. I could do with more triceps volume too.

Did some sparring.

Not trying to power all my punches through was very helpful. Just throw it out there fast and when it hits drive your weight through. I hit much harder and could snap back to guard much faster. My defense is still awful though…

Friday night:

Front squat 3/2/1 - start 165, end 245.
Row - very sloppy triple at 215, sets of 5 at 185. These were weak today. Upper back tired from front squats maybe?
Pullups - some high rep sets. Ended last set with a bunch of partials.
Hammer curls - 20 lb alternating each arm until total failure. Huge pump.

Oh god, I shouldn’t have stayed out so late last night…

Saturday morning:

BTN push jerk - light, fast. Only up to 175

Saturday noon:

This was awful, I had that thing going on where it feels like not all of the muscle is working. It’s my own fault for failing on my priorities last night and not getting enough sleep.

Also it was hot as shit (I think my heat tolerance goes down when I’m tired)

OHP - up to 160 (10 lb PR, although I think I did have the strength for it last overhead day). I got it on the second try with a bounce and olympic style start.

I hit the wall at this point. (which is pathetic considering how little volume that was)

Paused bottom half OHP - 150 (plus 5) I couldn’t get my shoulders to drive at first, but it got more explosive towards the end as it always does on dead stop movements.

Messed around with some light wide grip OHP just to try it.

triceps tomorrow, not tonight or I’d be up too late again.

girl I haven’t seen in a few months informed me I was the hulk cause I started small (im 5’6) and normal but then transformed. that was ego inflating…
