Sunday afternoon:
OHP - 10 singles at 140, pretty short rests. Then I had to drop to 130 for 10 more short rest singles and a double plus 2 push presses and a push jerk.
Gonna have to repeat this weight. My fault, I didn’t eat enough yesterday.
Sunday night:
Push press 3/2/1 scheme. Last wave ended at 155 x 1. PR, I think.
I’ll stay with 3/2/1 for push pressing.
No dips. I need more internal rotation first.
PJR extensions - some sets, only got a couple with 105. So no PR…
monday morning - some vertical and broad jumps to get activated
very unscientifically measured my vertical on one of them at 24 inches. hahaha (EDIT: actually i subtracted wrong, it was 25 inches. Still absolute shit)
Monday afternoon:
Deadlift - a bunch (I lost count) of short rest triples at 300. (plus 1 rep)
Speed deadlifts are working great, I’ve finally got some power off the floor.
Monday night:
good morning - top set was 225. (plus 10) Lots of sets up there.
I want to give my upper back a little break, so no rows or pullups.
Tuesday morning:
BTN push press - speed, just worked up to 155.
tuesday afternoon:
OHP - 30 singles at 140. (plus many sets) Hard.
Stop skipping sled work, pullaparts, and sleeping.
OHP up by 7 this last week
DL up by 10
I believe OHP’s progression is down due to lack of sleep, upper back prehab, and protein over the last few days.
The other thing that changed in that time period is doing push presses on overhead days instead of close grip. I don’t think that’s the issue but we’ll see.
tuesday evening:
push press 3/2/1 top weight was 165 (plus 10 lb)
sled work - flies, rows, VMO drags, face pulls, triceps, curls, etc
The sled work feels fantastic.

thursday:
Takin a mini deload yesterday and today. Probably tomorrow too.
Squat up to 320 (5 lb PR) missed 330 by a hair. This is about as far as my squat work sets have gone up, so it’s good to know I’m not just spinning my wheels only getting better at taking short rests or something.
Front squat up to 245 (40 lb PR I believe lol) I would have had 255 if I hadn’t collapsed at the bottom.
Some snatches and cleans. I can clean 135 with no dip under whatsoever. ![]()
Instead of the ab wheel rollouts that I never do, I think I may use front squats as assistance work. My upper erectors and abs are lagging.
Friday morning:
BTN push jerk light. up to a few at 175 and a few at 135.
God, I wanna train!! I think if I hold myself in today, then I’ll be totally recharged for another couple weeks. either that or I’ll explode…
mentallity should apply to warm ups too. Doesn’t matter that they’re easy, get that whole idea out of your head
friday afternoon:
bench up to a very fast, easy 195. I lost my setup completely on 205 as my bench was slick with sweat.
HOT. Heat really fucks my heat-conserving, stocky self up. All my training’ll have to be at night from now on.

In order of importance for me:
- Food.
- triceps
- program (which is tied in with food as I can’t get in enough work to improve unless I eat enough)
OHP and DL are my focus right now but once that DL hits 405, I’m coming for your squat buddy ![]()
