Has Society Become too Pussified?

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet in this thread, but there are almost no male rites of passage in the united states anymore, and culturally that is something very important.

Unlike other countries or time periods, men do not have to go into the military when they turn 18, apprentice at their father’s business, learn to hunt when they are 12, etc.etc… Boys simply don’t know when they are supposed to be men, or even what it means to be a man, so they just follow their mass peer group - which after the 1960’s is now mostly led by women, or “feminine” ways of thinking.

In my opinion we can’t just keep waiting for the pendulum to swing in the other direction, because what’s in that other direction is going to disappear soon.

We need to reverse this popular trend of disrespect towards men, we need to take our sons through rites of passage into manhood, and the way we do this is simple:

  1. stop mating with bitter domineering feminazis
  2. BE THERE for your children, and don’t just let the woman raise them

i completely think society has become over pussified.
im expelled out of my school for a few fights that happened last year and middle school. i got straight A’s.
I didnt start one fight. every fight was with a guy who had atleast a fucking year on me.
Its a sad day when boys cant be boys

I agree that society is becoming more pussified, but I think we are either misplacing alot of blame on women or forgetting them altogether. Even women are becoming more pussified. I am a senior in ungrad and I have girls in my classes whose goal is marry rich and loaf the rest of their lives. No drive, no will, just lazy.

Also, I dont think being raised by women is part of the problem. Being raised by lazy, undriven, crazy ass bitches may be the problem. My mom probably raised me more than my dad and she helped instill a proper sense of masculinity in me (ie. go play outside, go get into trouble). It was just balanced by caring and tenderheartedness, which I honestly think is an essential part of being a man.

Most of the people on this site would probably fall into the obese category of the BMI test that the governments use so I would take that number with a grain of salt.[/quote]

True, i’m there but have average bodyfat. 30 years of lifting changes things.

Huh? I compete in powerlifting, I wear bootcuts and slim legged jeans(oh the horror!), I radiate confidence, speak fluently, and with wit. I’m going to graduate with several college credits, and am pretty damn well read. Hell, I’m a straight up nerd. But I have no problem getting girls. None. I’ve blown through several in the past few months. Personality, boys, is where it’s at.

women are women and men are men. masculinity and feminity are not clothes you take on off or style as you wish. you can’t fake something that is natural.

i don’t see why this turns into a discussion against feminity as if it’s the scourge of society.
western society is still patriarchal. the fact that men are choosing to act less masculine, supposedly in response to the kind of defunct women’s movement, is not something i will take the blame for. let’s face it. women are also behaving in confusing ways trying to express an illusive ideal. universal desirability? yuh, right.

and gay men running everything or whatever the alarm is about what their influence is on society…they’re still men. they have always been the arbiters of style and ambition back even before max factor. it was more underground but so was everything else.

i was raised in a pretty matriarchal construct in my home life. for some reason in everyday life it translates to others perceiving me as a very strange female. they don’t know how to relate to me at all. i was told recently that when i walk into a room it is “with such purpose”. this was at work. W-O-R-K. it was an observation by a male. i suppose it was meant to make me feel self-conscious. okay. i walk like that everywhere. whatever.

i shook a guy’s hand after he introduced himself in a laundryroom. afterward i just knew that my handshake was way too firm. i wasn’t trying to be the crusher. it was casual but i thought, oh, you’ve left that strong impression again.

i won’t speak to what goes on with everyone else but as far as “feminine” behaviors or personality traits running things, i will say men in the workplace gossip and spread rumors and expect attention based on what they look like and women still try to get their attention. if you were to talk to them about that they would let you know how macho they are. because i don’t ascribe behaviors to gender i note it more than others do. people in general overlook those things in order to stick to preconceived notions.

what’s sad is that no matter who you are it really stands out if you do what you want, mean what you say and make an effort. oh well. eventually you get used to it and everyone else gets used to you and the way you live your life. or they don’t and life goes on anyway.

i mean just look at us. we always look for the easy way out of everything. social networking sites such as facebook have allow us to bitch moan and complain about everything. we are too scared to do simple stuff like talking to women at times…

I think we have become too pussified but that has nothing to do with manners, etiquete. My dad rescued an unconscious man from a crashing plane before parachuting out himself - takes guts. Few people exhibit or have guts. yet people are rude and selfish. Selfishness is pussified.

People are rude and demanding. Few people give. Talking to women is not a sign of guts. Not being able to talk to women shows a lack of social knowledge.

I do think whining and bitching and moaning about little things is a sign of a pussy. So is hitting a woman.

Society in the USA has alot of women/men - males who color their hair, pluck or shave every masculine hair from their body, spend more time in front of a mirror than many female models, coordinate their clothing and have clothing “accessories”. Men who are in effect women - honestly non-competitor bodybuilders are kind of pussies - so absorbed in what they look like. Body building is a form of prissing and preening.

Where are the men in America?

It depends - were the muscles earned by a man, or put on by some pussy only concerned with how he looks (no different than a girl fussing over her mascara - a man who flexes or checks his muscles non-stop in the mirror at the gym is also a pussy, no matter how big his pussy muscles are - he is still a girl who is only concerned with how he looks). Skinny or muscley - is he a man, … is he masculine? Fussing over ones looks is feminine. When I was a kid girls were expected to be overly concerned with their looks, to check themselves in a mirror. “Guys” did not give a F. Guys who care too much about how they look are pussies. If they fuss over how cut they are constantly, take more than 10 minutes after a shower to get ready for the day - if they shave and pluck their hairs … they are pussies. Guys are guys - they can go through the day wearing pajamas and not give a F. Hugh Hefner was a guy back before he was old - spent the day in pajamas with hot chicks (not being a hot chick - so many guys today ARE hot chicks , they get pedicures and have their hair done and pluck every stray hair).

True. Real men like women. Femininity is GREAT. I love it. Being around or raised by women does not make a man a pussy. When a man becomes a woman he is a pussy. I am not talking sex change - I am talking about feminine men. Men who care about their looks more than how they perform. A man who is financially supported by a woman or his parents once he is an adult is a pussy. Nothing worse than a financially dependant adult man who preens over his looks.

I completely disagree with just about everything you are insinuating here. Real men act in a manor that deserves respect, and looking the part is very important. How can you respect yourself if you look like a fucking slob that should be sleeping in a gutter?

I work with and speak to millionaires everyday, and how you look is very important. I would recommend looking like a mature, sane man if you want actual men to take you seriously.

I honestly hope you are being sarcastic or trolling. Because if not you just profiled yourself into the lower percentile man.
