Has Anyone Tried MK-677?

So I’ve come upon this growth horomone secretagogue and it looks very interesting because of the little to no side effects. I’ve done lots of research on it and it looks like the main concern is insulin resistance. For me I have a fast metabolism and I’m not prone to diabetes and I would buy a blood sugar monitor so I think I would be fine with that. I would start with 10mgs and if I see good results I’ll keep it at that. 10mgs looks like to have no side effects for most people I would also do a 3 month cycle of it. Don’t want my body to become dependent on it.

I read it also doesn’t increase organ size. Other side effects are hunger, water retention, lethargy and a couple other minor ones. But I don’t think I’d experience any with 10mgs. I’m on the fence of buying it so I’m asking have any of you tried it or known anyone whose tried it and what the results/side effects were? So far it looks promising to use.

I’ve tried it for 6 months. Aside from additional hunger I really didn’t notice much. Blood sugar went up a little. My understanding is it needs to be run longer than 3 months to see benefit. I would also make sure you are procuring it from a trusted source. There are alot of companies out there selling fake SARMS that are really prohormones. Know what your getting.

Have you ever tested your IGF-1 to determine if you need more GH?
MK-677 might not increase your organ size on its own but if you boost your IGF-1 with it which is how you get your body to produce more GH, well GH causes everything to grow muscles, heart, lungs.

I ran it for awhile, with blood work. Can’t talk sources, but this was a source recommended on the MPMD site, and got really good reviews. I tested IGF-1 before, and then after being on it for about 6 months. My IGF-1 didn’t budge (it actually went down a few points).

I have seen some get decent results with it. I may not respond to it (which is documented by research, that some don’t respond).

Boosting HGH will make IGF-1 go up, not the other way around. GH is converted to IGF-1 by the liver. More GH, more conversion to IGF-1.

To be clear… the OP is a 154-pound 18-year old who’s been training about 6 months and doesn’t have a decent training or nutrition plan in place.

A good serving of mk-677 mediated insulin resistance will help the boy!

Nah, op doesn’t need the drugs. He needs a critique of his nutritional intake and training regiment.

Thank you I stand corrected.

IGF - 1 is primarily produced in the liver, skeletal muscles, and many other tissues in response to GH stimulation.

Learned something too, in that I thought it was only a liver process.

Didn’t know that. At 18, I would guess GH is pretty high. OP would be served well to just eat and train right. Adding Creatine could be worth while.

In high school, I would hide my creatine in the closet. Thought it was almost like the sauce. It probably does more than MK does though.

lift for 10 years straight and then repost your question thanks

Creatine probably increases strength/maximal anaerobic capacity far more so than mk677 would through increased ATP production

Mk677 probably enhances recovery and leads to more water retention than creatine use does. Overall, mk677 is the riskier supplement due to the adverse effect increasing GH/IGF-1 generally has on glucose metabolism AND due to the prospect of long term overstimulation of ghrelin receptors in the brain aa the drug has a fairly long half life, perhaps leading to deleterious neuropsychiatric consequences late down the line.

Wouldn’t put my bets on the latter, bigger issue is a kid ending up prediabetic/diabetic and subsequently attaining an unfavourable cardiometabolic profile.

When used alone, imo the gains probably wouldn’t be significant enough to justify the risks (regardless of age or lifting experience) unless you’re of an age/in a state wherein a serious decline in endogenous GH production is present.

Should be noted OP is also only 5’6. He only needs another 15 lbs in his frame to look pretty damn solid. Could be achieved in 12-18 months of hard training/dieting… Or less if he has really only been training for 6 months, depends how fluffy he’s willing to get.

Come onnnnnn op, give us your training routine/diet. How many avocados do you eat in a day? I love avocados dammit!

We’re sorting out his training and diet in his other thread: Building Overall Mass

Ha! Massive hunger, amped up sleep & insulin resistance (I got the first two, not the last one).

Edit: I should add I didn’t test IGF-1 while on it, but the hunger made me stop at 2-3 weeks. Wasn’t trying to eat everything

I want to grow taller and ive heard mk can do that.

My gym partner tried MK-677 and it helped increase his appetite which helped him increase his weight rapidly. Unfortunately it wasn’t very clean weight. He felt like it wasn’t worth it.

Tissues produce it for local use too. A few years ago it was all the rage to train for IGF-1 production with these high fatigue sets.

IGF-1 produced by the liver is secreted into the bloodstream. So the one on your blood test is from the liver. The locally produced IGF-1 is is not secreted into the blood stream. Very similar to the glycogen stores of the liver vs skeletal muscle.
