Here is to a Masters Raw United Victory !!!
Thanks OG I am giving it my best.
After getting dinner ready for the family and having my cup of coffee I lifted.
DE Bench Press:(Alternating grips:close, medium, wide)
135 x 2 sets x 5 reps
215 x 9 x 3(1 min btwn sets)
SlingShot Bench Press:
275 x 1
325 x 1
CG Bench Press:
195 x 12
Had to stop lifting because of possible injury. The SlingShot BP 325 went up fine but I felt a sharp strain in my right front deltoid that radiated into my right trap and a bit on the right side of my neck following the lift. Changing weights after the BP and moving equipment around made the sharp feeling return when I did certain movements with my right arm. I decided to keep lifting and began the first set of CG BPs but then I felt the sharp pain return again so then I changed my mind and called the rest of lifting off for tonight. Had a good start to the lifting night, so I’ll recover and lift again another time.
I think I will be able to do therapy tonight and tomorrow on the affected area and hopefully not have any lingering damage to my right shoulder.
Good luck. I agree, you can never be too careful.
^2.
No alliteration comes to mind, but rest sure does.
Thanks Crippler and Biker. I was scared that my neck would be locked up this morning but all the therapy last night helped a bunch. There is still lingering pain in the front of my right trap and in my right front delt however it has greatly diminished. I believe with continued therapy tonight all will be well.
By therapy I mean applying the MARC PRO(muscle pulse stimulation) for hours and taking a bunch of tumeric. I’ve been avoiding taking any nsaid as much as possible because I try to avoid taking anything that may have negative consequences or take away from building strength or muscle. I will take the occasional Naproxen but only when the pain is very high.
This afternoon all my arthritic joints felt rusty and creaky. My back and legs were in protest from the beginning of squats until the 3rd or 4th working set but then I began to warm up and feel a little strong. So the lifting went like this.

Wanted to do more tonight but I was pressed for time. I was pleased not to feel any discomfort in my right trap or shoulder from the minor trauma I had the other night.
Nice work GV…I cant imagine putting 7 hundo on my back…
impressive stuff all around as always.
I still love that you squat every session
I am hitting up my ice and tens unit post training.
Thanks OG and bagofbro. Making the effort can be daunting and I have to fight myself just to get going on occasion but I most always feel better after finishing the torture…it’s the sweetness.
Happy Superbowl to everyone!
Tonight I had my five year old girl lifting with me and playing around me so the 1 hour session took almost 2 hours. My girl did some 10 lbs dumbbells deadlifts, 10 lbs lat pulldowns, hanging knee lifts, and a bunch of bike riding as well as running around(kid energy). So, I got lifting done in between:

Belated congrats on the 700 lb l/4 squat, again. It’s hard for me to even type that number.
Thanks biker. Today I was rusty again and everything hurt until I got up to the heavier weights then I finally managed to loosen up. I have solo Daddy duty right now because my wife is out of town on business for a couple of days so my lifting time was limited but I eked out what I think is significant enough damage to last me a day or two.

Short, kind of heavy, and satisfying. I have until mid-April for the meet so I am feeling positive that I will be able to increase my squat and other lifts greatly by then.
Tonight went well.

Arthritis a bit cranky but once I was warm everything moved well.
RDL’s with 405?..hold on let me wipe my glasses…yup 405…holy crap GV awesome stuff…
Thanks OG, my rear-end and hammies were in protest very soon after the heavy RDL lifting. I think I’ll do more of these and heavier so I can really make progress and feel the pain.
Ok GV I really felt the GMs today. I bent over to pick up some stuff, and thought “damn that hurts.” Thanks for the tip.
Crippler-glad to read those elevated GMs are working for you. This afternoon I thought there was no way I would have a good lifting session. My sleep was off last night; I was up until 3 AM and woke up before 10 AM. I was very sluggish and had a hard time getting going but after a large coffee things improved a little.
DE Squats:(1 min btwn sets)

225 x 3
320 lbs x 9 sets x 3 reps

I think I could do a lot more with the deficit deads but I was worn out today.
That’s pretty good for being tired.
Thanks Crippler, my back and hamstrings are a bit sore this morning but not too bad.
