Hardcore Essentials2

Thanks Snap and emskee. Had trouble getting the videos up. Lifted earlier Saturday before going to a family event.

DE Bench(alternating grips):
135 x 10
210 x 9 sets x 3 rep(1 min btwn sets)

SlingShot Bench:
225 x 3
275 x 1
305 x 1(wanted to do more but I was spent)

Reverse Incline Fly’s/Hammer Curls:
35 lbs Dumbbells x 3 x 10/3 x 12

This was a fast, intense session and now I am exhausted.

Awesome stuff in the vid GV, even directing the lighting crew!!

Happy Easter to all.

Thanks OG.

Wow. Impressive pull. Absolutely no way I could lock out anything over 500 if it didn’t leave the ground a lot faster than that. Nice work and Happy Easter to you and your family.

Thanks Dave, I really need to work on my initial speed and carrying that through my dead. That being said I will admit my energy was low at the point I began the 530 deficit dead and really had to gut through the lift. No excuses for my slow ass though so I will be more explosive in the future.

Okay, I came over to see them.

Videos are brilliant! The 530 was great, no hitch, good lift.

The hell with slow, you were going as fast as you could there and you didn’t stop until you were done. Explosive? Think Saturn V vs. hand grenade.

And no belt! All awesome power gut. I’m impressed.

Good Lift! 530 off of a deficit is no, joke.

Thanks emskee, some people have a 6-pack but I have keg. Thanks Matty that lift kicked my but all the way through Sunday night. Rocket thrust power rules, oh yeah!

600 is right there. Looks like you’re rolling out ahead of me.

Well Crippler I hope your right and it’s less than 2 weeks to the testing ground.

Tonight I had a rough time getting started but once I got moving the power was there.

ME Squats:(Raw w/knee sleeves)
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1(belt)
495 x 1(belt)
565 x 1(belt)

615 x fail

Dead-stop Bench(beginning at 4" over chest):
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 3
255 x 3
275 x 3

Standing Crunches:
70 lbs x 20

Decided to cut out all accessory lifting this week and next week in preparation for the meet. I set up poorly on the 615 and rushed the squat. Near the bottom I did a pause/hesitation which threw me off completely and I realized my bar placement on my back wasn’t in the right spot-so all in all I screwed up the 615 lbs attempt. The 565 lbs felt strong and I know I have more so we’ll see what happens later this week.

I wish I could gut one out like that, takes pure strength.

Solid squat tonight as well. My shoulders hurt just watching you get into position for it.

Thanks Dave, I really appreciate the support.

Staying maniacal.

Nice and smooth brother, way to drive off your heels,

You should nail that in a meet. Not being much of “squatter” myself, I like the set up.

Absolutely emskee. Thanks Matty and Crippler that 565 lbs will be my opener most likely with a 605 lbs second attempt squat with a pop at 615 or 625 lbs for a third. Depending on my energy remaining my dead attempts may be the same. I’m thinking of an easy 275 lbs opener for my bench, followed by a 305 for the second attempt, and finally 315 to 325 lbs for my third bench attempt. To have a 1500 lbs total or better is the goal for this meet. Thinking ahead to July I will compete again where I will hope to go 1550 lbs or better. These are all goals that may wave up or down considering various factors centering around my levels of performance and health.

You’ve got 1500 in the bag. You lifting in 198 this time?

Thanks Joe, I’ll be in the 220 lbs class.
