DB Side Raises
70 x 7 x 4 sets (The video is the fourth set, because somehow I tokk a photo instead of a video of the third set)

DB Front Raises

Hectic day. Mother-in-law was in the hospital until just a little bit ago, went in right after I started working out, Sigh.
On the bright side, I am supposed to be getting a couple of 100lb plates in the next day or two, so I can actually do a deadlift with some weight.

70 # side and front delt raises are very impressive.

Thanks. I have no where near the cardio conditioning you have though. I don’t swim so much as try not to sink and I do not enjoy running in any form, LOL. Cardio conditioning is my new challenge as I get old.

Wednesday 8/19
I have decided that I am devoid of shoulder flexibility at the moment. So, that combined with me being bored with what I’ve been doing and the fact that I don’t have those 100 lb plates yet has caused a changeup.

Power Clean, with 1 MP and then 1 BTN and then down. I’m calling it a complex, because I’m developing one.

I cold not get the bar all the way to my necks on the first few BTN’s. Sigh**. I’m going to do these embarassing low weight things for a while adding weight slowly. I’m having some BP issues in the clean position, and in general. Meds don’t do anything, and apparently I am genetically predisposed to render cardiovascular drugs valueless. Not frustration here, I had a pharmacogenetic test run to tell me what is what with drugs for me. Drugs like Haldol are equally ineffective for me, so it’s a good thing I’ve never needed them.
I sold some spare plates with 1" holes and my 70lb DB to Play It Again Sports today, and bought 2 shiny new 75 lb DB’s.

When you say neck…are you talking at the base or lower?

Top of the traps. which is where I always took it to when I was younger and competing. It finally got there after about 3 sets.

Nope. I would say it’s because I don’t have a seat where I am atm, but the truth is that I have never really done much seated press. I’m cleaning the weight first, because i also don’t have access to a rack atm.

Now I kinda wish I had gone bigger on the DB’s, but these should be enough for whatever else I do. Just trying to do SOMETHING every day besides that stupid bike.

Saturday 8/22
DB Flyes - on the deck cause I have no bench
40 x 10 x 3 sets
Supersetted with screwing around with the 75lb DB’s for side laterals. I hate to admit it, but they really felt heavy. I would say maybe 2 reps from each set actually counted, maybe. But, give me a few weeks and we should be there.
Side note - I drove one hour each way to pick up some plates. I already owned them, they just were in the care of someone an hour away - along with the rest of my stuff from before I quit having a fixed address in the U.S. I brought back what I thought the Subaru could handle, 4-45’s and 2-100’s. Toomrrow, God willing, I Deadlift for real.
