Hardartery - Like Hypnotizing Chickens

You guys really want me to hate Mondays, huh. So… hardartery has chosen to leave, but lemme just address some stuff for the room to see and then we can all move along:

There were a ton of blatant lies in your recent posts in this thread, but this is the topper. The issue wasn’t about speaking negatively about HIT. It was about your deliberately entering into threads for the sole purpose of attacking (not discussing, not debating).

That’s pretty straightforward trolling and it’s something that other members even noticed and suggested you cool off on. Instead of being rational and exercising some self-control, you went off in a tizzy - if you can’t go around stirring up trouble, you’re just not gonna stay here. Cool. Bye.

And I don’t know what the deal is with people trying to delete posts on their way out. Is that like peeing in the pool when you’re done swimming? Either way, that’s a no-no.

Anywho, to repost a chunk of the e-mail I had sent you (which, rather than replying to, you jumped into this thread with a melodramatic meltdown):

"While I can see your general point of view, you need to understand that any new forum members are free to discuss any training method in the Bigger, Stronger, Leaner forum.

You seem to think the “Ellington Darden Coaching Forum” is the “HIT Forum”. It’s not, just like the “Christian Thibaudeau Coaching Forum” isn’t the “High Frequency Training Forum”.

If you see a thread in any forum that doesn’t interest you, you’re not obligated open it and certainly not obligated to post in it. Actively seeking out threads simply to “call BS” on any specific training method is a bad idea, as evidenced by your mistaken attempt in the “Mr. Universe” thread.

Also, as I’ve mentioned in other threads, Dr. Darden is a longtime personal friend of the owner of the site. Personal attacks on him and/or his methods will not be permitted, period. Intelligent discussion about training methods is fine. Being open to discussing training with other members, sure. But going from thread to thread just to bash HIT needs to stop ASAP before posting restrictions are put in place."

Again, a lie. Members are welcome to be skeptical and critical about any given method: HIT, 5/3/1, Starting Strength, Neurotypes, whatever. But simply calling something “delusional”, “stupid”, and “insane” (which you’ve done) isn’t productive, to say the least.

And, yes, as Mods and myself have said before, Dr. Darden is a close, personal friend of the owner of the site. Attacking his credentials and experience (which has also happened) isn’t allowed. It’s just the way it is.

If you have an issue with Dr. Darden’s work (Quick aside: Choosing to use the title Dr. when addressing/referring to a strength coach who has a doctorate in exercise science is just a basic sign of respect, no need for anyone to read any deeper into it), but if there’s a question about his work, that’s exactly what the coaching forum is for.

All in all, this thing has turned into a pretty wild situation.

Mods: “Don’t attack Darden.” [deletes posts mocking Darden]
Members: “Hey, why’d you delete those?”

Members: “These new HIT members are so weird, they’re bringing down the forum.”
Mods: [deletes HIT member trolling the forum]
Members: “Hey, why’d they delete that guy?”

Mods: “If you have doubts about HIT or Darden, that’s cool, just post a thread about it.”
Members: [crickets]

It really doesn’t need to be some complicated or dramatic event, and it doesn’t need to (and will not) turn into some giant speedbump in the course of the forum. Now locking the thread because, “unfair” as it seems, it’s not really a discussion at this point. I feel that all points have been addressed.
