Damn hoss! You’re racking in the PRs up in here!
Solid work, keep it up.

Hey cav, ever think about incorporating some chins into the repertoire, either assisted with bands or the machine? great way to the hit the lats (obviously) but also biceps…nice work on those “matty” rows!

good job on your squats too.

X2…Cav and your squat progress is awesome…a deep squat vs a half squat is a huge poundage difference…HUGE…way to keep bringing it!
Thanks, James, that’s high praise!
Matty, I do chins on occasion, they’re just damn hard for me, one reason I really want to beef up arms. Last week did them with toes on bench, huffing & puffing but got them out. The assistance machine just doesn’t seem to help any.
Goat, you’re the squat king, thanks a lot!
To all my Canadian friends, happy Thanksgiving. At least that’s what my calendar says, did I get it right?
Did some shoulder stuff yesterday. Rear delt DB flies, Matty rows, clean and press. Form was much better than last time, that’s promising. Now if I can just get the weight over 95 lbs, I’ll feel like a real lifter.
Did a ton of rotator cuff stuff. Is there anyone who likes these? But they’re so useful for holding shoulders together. Grit teeth and do them.
OK, looks like I got the extension on unemployment benefits so the panic is subsiding. Still looking . . . not getting responses . . . will see. Would love to go onto another Sheiko cycle and push my PL lifts up, but just can’t tell what will happen. Think I’ll try a Sheiko-ish routine, lots of squats & bench & DL and see what happens.

Rotator cuff stuff is boring and because it’s light it doesn’t get you excited, but it sure beats the alternative (shoulder pain). I think of it like flossing.

Great news!
Happy about the extension!
Cav-
The resume circle jerk is such bullshit. I know of what you speak.
Go get that 315 DL!
You’re making progress from the last time I checked, Cav.
Good work!

Good news that the stress is slightly off.
Best push for that new dl pr coz i is chasing yo ass boy !!! (did i say that right ??)
Ahh, chins. They always make me feel good about myself since I can chin better than the average man.
Cuff stuff. I know it intimately. Boring as all get-out. But oh-so necessary.
Brett, thanks, yeah, flossing is a good comparison. (And I should do that more often too.)
Matty, thanks, only good for 5 months, better get something!
Buffalo, thanks a lot, got my sights on it.
2busy, thanks very much!
Nurse, enjoy it while you can, I’m still working on mine! BTW, if you meet a black guy from America, strongly recommended you don’t address him as “boy”. Very nasty connotation here.
Snapper, do all the chins you can. Nothing wrong with more confidence.
OK. Started a “Sheiko - ish” kind of routine, playing around until I know my schedule:
Bench
85 x 6
95 x 5
115 x 4
135 x 3 . x 3
145 x 2 . x 2 . x 2 . x 2 . x 2
135 x 3 . x 3
concentrating on using arms more, emphasize pulling bar apart. seems to help, getting smoother
Squat
115 x 6
135 x 5
155 x 4
175 x 3 . x 3 . x 3 . x 3 . x 3
guy suddenly comes over and says “You getting stronger?” (big boy, he had been incline pressing 100 lb DBs) I said “Yeah, a little”. he complimented me, said he had seen me in the gym and saw my weights going up, said I was really dedicated. Introduced himself, real nice guy.
CG bench
75 x 8
95 x 5
115 x 3 . x 3
125 x 2 . x 2 . x 2
GMs
95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5 . x 5
used to scoff at these, but think they’re actually getting my hanstrings stronger.
Thats some good solid training right there…
Amen , solid Cav. Sheiko-ish still looks like it beats the sheiko out of yah.
Goat, thanks very much.
Dude, not sure what “beats the sheiko out of you” means, but sure sounds nasty! I’d be happy if it just beats the weakness out of me.
DL to knees
135 x 6
185 x 5
225 x 4
255 x 3 . x 3 . x 3
265 x 3
255 x 3
saw another guy about my size pulling DLs with the bar resting on a bench, which of course is easier than what I was doing. Also doing less weight, only 245.
Bench
95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 3 . x 3 . x 3 . x 3
145 x 3
135 x 3
Shouldn’t have tried a triple for 145, almost didn’t get it up. Without the discipline of a program, I start taking the weights up and could get problems.
DB flies - regular, not incline
20 x 10
25 x 10 . x 10 . x 10 . x 10
Rack pulls - pins just under knees
185 x 5
225 x 4
275 x 3 . x 3 . x 3 . x 3
Played a game with myself, thinking I should be benching 275, what would it feel like, feeling the bar in my hands. Seemed to do a number on my grip and my shoulders, hope so, they can use the work.
Cav another fine session…thats a lot of pulling!!
Thanks again, Goat, I really appreciate your stopping by.
Had a CRAPPY night’s sleep, seriously wondered if I should work out or skip a day, finally decided it couldn’t make me feel worse and might pick me up.
Squat
115 x 5
135 x 4
155 x 4 . x 4
185 x 3 . x 3 . x 3 . x 3
not too hard surprisingly, cheered me up slightly
Bench
95 x 6
115 x 5
135 x 4
145 x 3
145 x 3
135 x 3 . x 3 . x 3 . x 4
Tri standing extension on pulley machine
40 x 10
70 x 10
100 x 5 . x 5 . x 5 . x 5
wanted something tough to pound my arms, these certainly seemed to do the trick.
DB flies
25 x 10 . x 10 . x 10 . x 10
Nice work cav…God I hate rack pulls!
Great work. Always nice to receive an unsolicited comment isn’t it?

That can really work.
BTW, for what it is worth, Jeff Dee (Villains & Vigilantes) is now the lead artist for the Tekumel revival, Jim Ward just got out of the hospital, and NTRPG is still on for next year.
