I’m curious about this. If you go through a surgical procedure to have existing gyno removed (breast tissue/glands), can it ever be a problem again while on certain androgenic compounds? Thanks.
I’ve been looking into this now and it seems like the answer is yes as long as there is some of the gland left when they do the surgery.
Hmm… Would you be able to ask the doc to get the gland completely removed then? Or is this unhealthy? I have non-drug induced gyno (since a kid), and I wouldn’t want to risk getting it again if I decide to get surgery. From what I hear, it costs a lot.
yeah, you can ask him to do that, the gland doesnt serve a purpose, so it would not be “unhealthy”
Most surgeons will advise against removing the entire gland as it will likely leave a depression below the nipple. You’ll go from protruding nipples to inverted nipples. There is a way to get around this problem, but you might have a hard time finding a doc to do it. It involves folding some of the surrounding fat into the depression left by removing the entire gland. I couldn’t tell you if leanness affects the depression or the fat-flap method, but it could be something to bring up to the surgeon.
I’ve had gyno surgery twice and I still have some. It can certainly come back post surgery.

You mind going into a little bit of detail on your experience? How much has it cost you? How inconvenient/time consuming/painful were the procedures? Results? etc.

I dont know what his experience was but I can tell you mine. I had gyno in my left breast but not my right, so I opted for surgery. I had to get a mammogram and an ultrasound first to confirm it was gyno, which I knew it was.
The surgery was like $3,500 luckily my insurance paid for the bulk of it. I had general anethesia so the surgery was a breeze. I didnt have much pain after at all. I had to keep a thick pad taped to it for a couple weeks to keep pressure on it so fluid didnt build up around the surgery area. My doctor was a plastic surgeon as well and he made a small incision around the edge of my left nipple and there is absolutely no scar. He did great work.
I was advised to not lift for 5 weeks but I took 6 off just to be safe. So far, no problems with it since but then again Im not taking steroids either.
Hope this helps.
man most certainly you can get gyno back after the surgery. What they do is open the nipple and eliminate as much of the breast tissue without affecting your shape.
There is some tissue that’s needed otherwise the nipple will cave in. Unless you plan on being 3% bodyfat for the rest of your life.
