Gym flooring advice

Polling the room

About the lay down flooring in my garage for a home gym. Plan was 3/4 inch horse stall mats.

Some slight concern if that will be enough protection. I am using all steel plates, working up to around 600 on my heaviest lifts.

Anyone have any experience here? Horse stall mats have always done the job for me before, but that’s been with bumper plates instead of iron. Considering building a lifting platform, but would rather not if it’s not necessary

I used those mats for years with steel plates with zero issues. I don’t drop the weight, though. Dropping a deadlift from waist high might be an issue, but I can’t think of what would be better protection.

I haven’t pulled 600 in the basement but the horse stall mats have presented no problems for me.
