Supposedly, if you have gall bladder issues, it can lead to post-prandial diarrhea practically every time you eat or drink. Something to do with bile production. I think cholestyramine is prescribed for consumption before meals, and it binds to bile salts I believe.

Nope, not me. I get naseated really easily in the morning to early afternoon and it gets really bad when I don’t get much sleep. Sometimes, I just have to lay down after eating breakfast so I don’t vomit and it doesn’t always work. Bloating is a constant problem too. I’m seeing a doctor tomorrow in the morning. Lately, I’ve get a pulsing/twitching in my upper right abdominal and sometimes it even feels like there’s some sort of contraction there too that come suddenly and unexpectedly and even made me grab that area and wince a few times. The problems have been getting worse since I started college over 5 years ago. They used to be tolerable, but now it’s getting too bad to ignore.
Frick, does anybody here get gassy and bloated when you’re hungry? It hasn’t been as much as a problem since I started IFing, but it still is an issue.
So another update and continued improvement: phased out the digestive enzymes and things are still going well. Still taking DGL twice per day but I think that can be phased out, too. Been trying to consume something fermented every day (not alcohol, but like sauerkraut, apple cider vinegar, or kombucha tea) and that seems to be awesome. Still have some glutamine left, so I’m still taking that twice a day as well.
Also entirely gluten and lactose free for the time being. I have some hope that those can be consumed once everything is sorted out but not a big deal if that’s not possible.
A couple TBSP of ACV in water is a delicious, refreshing drink! I love vinegar.
A buddy of mine has sworn by it for the past few months. He claims:
-Makes him less bloated
-He doesnt’ have NEARLY as much gas (sitting next to him at work, I can attest to that)
-Weight gain has gone up (immaculate diet too)
I started yesterday, so we’ll see how things go. As of now I can only say I haven’t had much of any gas in 24hrs, which is a big deal haha (more to my girl then to me)

Anyone else taking HCL with each meal?

I take a super enzyme at every big meal that contains HCL, so yes, and it has been one of the best additions to my diet.
Is there a preffered product or stack when starting out? I have been taking ACV for some time now but, as I am gaining at the moment (consuming a lot of meat) I believe this is something I should look in to. There are days that I really feel out of it bloat/gassy/occasional headache.
I take a product called PRO-FIBER by Myogenix daily and i really like it.
PROFIBER + ENZYMES is a comprehensive formula designed to support digestive and intestinal health, may assist in fat loss, and aid in lowering cholesterol levels and cardiovascular risk. Our potent enzyme blend is ideal for high protein diets, and for those individuals looking to utilize the maximum amount of nutrients in their diet. PROFIBER also contains Lactospore 15 billion, a stable probiotic which survives gastric secretions and reaches the intestine safely. This allows the formation of 'healthy" antagonostic substances to inhibit the growth of pathogenic “bad” bacteria, thus improving intestinal and overall health. And, despite containing 4g soluble and 5g insoluble fiber from oat, bamboo, and pea sources, PROFIBER + ENZYMES is virtually tasteless and mixes instantly!
eggs, ham, turkey, brocolli, green beans, chicken, mushrooms
oats, water, raisins
chicken, tomatoes, onions
chicken, green beans, broccoli, tomatoe paste
chicken, bell peppers, chile peppers
I also take fiber supps. and use coconut oil for fat
My problem is that many days I feel bloated/backed up and uncomfortable. I think I may be constipated but, then on cardio days I always end up having to go to the bathroom around mile 1.5. Perhaps I digest food really slow cardio speeds it up? To much chicken?
What would be some recommended supps to aid digestion? I do not no what the problem may be.
EDIT: I drink over 3 liters of water/crystal light everyday.
Huge fan of Psyllium Husk here… I take two tablespoons in water (10 grams) usually with the 2nd-to-last feeding of the night (not right before bed, as it can sometimes feel a little ‘churny’ while you’re trying to sleep). I use the Trader Joe or Whole Foods ‘365’ brand (cheap).
Even though I was a big flax seed fan, and eat plenty of fiber (raw broccoli, cauliflower, big salads) the Psyllium Husk has made a world of difference. Previously, when I would crap it would come out like toxic sludge. Now when I crap, it’s a thing of beauty: Simple, easy, quick, dependable.
Like body fat percentage, I think almost everybody estimates their fiber needs incorrectly.
So much good info here in this thread and I think it is really a great topic.
My simple and perhaps obvious 2 cents: I think the MAG-10 pulse fast is a wonderful way to give the gut a rest and still provide nutrients to the lean tissues to stave off any catabolic issues inherent in fasting. Even just reducing one’s total solid or whole protein/carb/fat meals (which could be a typical protein shake) for a few days and replacing them with MAG-10 only has benefits of giving the gut a real rest. It has definitely done this for me, and my gut feels “recuperated” after doing this.
I have another thread in the supplement forum where I told a great story about my uncle in law’s experience with MAG-10…he has some very real digestion issues that were adversely effecting his health. MAG-10 was touted as requiring little to no digestion (i.e. low gut work) but yet getting the important nitrogen elements into the bloodstream for the important building blocks they provide for healthy life (not to mention muscle growth)…so we tried an experiment with him using this. And the results are fantastic.

just try one of the protocols in this thread. Do you have a question about a particular supplement?

Can you link the thread for me? I’d like to read about your uncles results…
